About

Surry Community Health Center is located in the foothills of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. Mount Airy, NC – known to locals as “Mayberry” – is home to Northern Regional Hospital, which is located less than 3 miles from our facility. We are also in an ideal location to accept referrals from Atrium and Novant hospital systems. Surry is perfect for all residents’ needs, ranging from simple assistance with daily living, short term rehabilitation to the most medically complex requirements.

🐾 A Purr-fectly Special Day!

Resident Bonnie is all smiles after officially gaining full custody of her three beloved cats, thanks to our in-house “Cat Lawyer” (aka Admissions Coordinator), Kristie Brady! 😄🐱

With custody papers drawn up and even “notarized” with a special seal, Bonnie was overjoyed knowing her furry companions would always be by her side. Kristie shared, “This might have been my favorite day here, getting Bonnie to smile so big!”

Moments like these remind us how important it is to make our residents feel safe, seen, and truly special.💙

🌸💙 Creative Easter Fun!

Help us give a very special thank you to our wonderful volunteer, Peg Benninger, for stopping by to help our residents create these beautiful Easter wreaths! 🐣✨

Everyone had such a lovely time adding baskets, bows, and their own personal touches. Harvey chose a bright yellow border with lots of greenery, while Shirley went with pink accented by white bows, each one as unique as the person who made it! 😊

Our residents hopped right into the Easter spirit earlier this month with these adorable bunny baskets! 🐣 Arlene (in blue) and Donna (in pink) proudly showed off their creations, complete with treats and snacks.

Staff and residents had a blast during our annual St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt! A special shoutout to our Human Resources Director, Lizzie Bowman, for finding the “lucky duck.” 🦆From fun games and festive activities to delicious food, it was a wonderful day filled with laughter and Irish cheer for everyone.🤍

Residents enjoyed a fun trip out on the town, with Walmart being a favorite stop! CMA Kathy Wagoner accompanied Resident Donna, while CMA Montrea Fleming joined Resident Barbara for the outing.

These special trips bring smiles, independence, and wonderful memories along the way. 💙
