This week, we welcomed a few new members to the Northern team... 🐾

We are so grateful for the interest received for our Pet Therapy Program and are happy to share 9 dogs have successfully completed their evaluations and will be starting their rounds soon!

Group home visit today. Surry Yadkin Residential Services (SYRC) is a hidden gem in Surry County. They work with mentally and physically disabled adults. They have a very nice store on Pine Street near Main Street, Mount Airy. Crafts are made with the help of the residents. Glad to assist in their medical care. Check out their store if you are in the area.

When tomorrow is Therapy Dog Thursday and Miss Bonnie Lou decided she would play in the mud by the pond tonight…. Might be her first time reporting to HR to explain her work attire. Will see how she looks in the morning. To be continued…

Miss Millie will have a new intern starting in a few weeks. Miss Millie will be training Bonnie Lou as a new Pet Therapy puppy/dog. So if you see Bonnie Lou, feel free to pet her and say hello.

Our Student Council is collecting specific supplies that have been requested for Weaverville, NC. GMS students are being sent home this flyer today. If you would like to help in our efforts, please send in items from the list to GMS between 1/27 and 1/31. We will have Student Council Representatives available each day in the main hallway before school to collect items. Thank you for helping us send love to the western part of our state.

We are very excited to welcome our new neighbors across the road on Hwy 89 in 2025. This area serves a wide variety of locals and interstate travelers and we hope to see more businesses realize the potential for growth.

The facility is expected to create about 80 jobs.
