Our Executive Director, Kevin Evans, was recently invited to a meeting with C.M.S. Director Dr. Mehmet Oz. The focus of this meeting was to discuss the challenges we face in long term care.

This was a significant opportunity for key leaders at NACo to address issues and explore potential solutions to improve our services. It was a productive conversation and we are optimistic about the positive impact this collaboration will have on our long term care practices.

❤️ Love was in the air at Martha T. Berry during our Teaching Kitchen Valentine’s celebration! Our elders enjoyed creating sweet treats together — chocolate-dipped strawberries, decorated cookies, rice crispy treats, and chocolate-covered pretzels. It was a joyful evening filled with laughter, connection, and a little extra sweetness shared among friends. 💕

Our elders at Martha T. Berry enjoyed an entertaining afternoon filled with the classic sounds and charm of our Willie Nelson impersonator. From familiar favorites to toe-tapping tunes, the musical stylings had everyone smiling and singing along. It was a wonderful celebration of music, memories, and the joy of sharing the moment together. 🎶

This week was filled with wagging tails and warm hearts at Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility 🐾

Our elders joined the incredible staff and volunteers from Macomb County Animal Control (MCAC) for a special Martha’s Mutts – Puppy Love Social, welcoming shelter dogs who are currently looking for loving homes in our community. The room was instantly transformed with smiles, laughter, gentle pets, and the unmistakable joy that only a dog can bring. But the giving didn’t stop there. In true Martha T. Berry fashion, our elders wanted to give back. They lovingly prepared delicious homemade dog bone cookies for the shelter pups — treats that are sure to get some tails wagging! It was a beautiful reminder that purpose doesn’t retire; it simply finds new ways to shine. We concluded the afternoon with a heartwarming photo shoot featuring our elders and the adorable adoptable pups — capturing sweet moments of connection, compassion, and community. We are so grateful to MCAC for partnering with us to make this meaningful day possible.
