A beautiful moment of recognition took place at CERTUS Premier Memory Care in Orange City!

We had the honor of hosting the National Institute for Dementia Education - NIDE Endorsement Award ceremony for Ariel Chivers of Stetson University's Brain Fitness Academy. Ariel was chosen from over 200 nominations nationwide for her uplifting, community-centered work in dementia education and care.

Ariel’s compassion and commitment to cognitive wellness have brought hope, dignity, and engagement to so many older adults in our community - and we are so proud to call her a partner and friend in this mission.

The award was presented by our very own Joshua J. Freitas, VP of Program Development at CERTUS and Chair of NIDE, alongside Traci Hendrickson, Director of Community Relations.

❗ Did you know up to 60% of people with dementia may wander (NIDE, 2020)? Some even begin walking toward their dominant side — notice which foot steps out first 👣.
