Tick season is upon us, and here in Morrow County we have already had 3 confirmed and 2 suspected cases of Lyme Disease. While we want everyone to get out and enjoy the sunshine ☀️remember to wear repellent and long, light-colored clothing. Don't forget, when you head back inside, complete a full body check!

🪲 Tick Bite Prevention & Awareness 🌿
As the weather warms up, ticks become more active—and so should our prevention efforts. Tick bites can spread illnesses like Lyme disease, but a few simple steps can help keep you and your family safe.
Here’s how to protect yourself:
🧦 Wear long sleeves and pants when in wooded or grassy areas
🧴 Use EPA-approved insect repellent
👟 Stick to the center of trails when hiking
🧺 Toss clothes in the dryer on high heat after being outdoors
🔍 Check your body, kids, and pets for ticks after spending time outside
If you find a tick:
✔ Remove it promptly with fine-tipped tweezers
✔ Clean the area with soap and water
✔ Monitor for symptoms like rash or fever
Ticks are small—but the risks are real. Staying aware and taking precautions can make all the difference.
