You will see this tool used at every visit before getting adjusted. This is called the Delta-T, and it tells us where there may be neurological dysfunction or irritation in the spine and nerve system. It does this by reading temperature differences between the right and left side of the spine.

Our goal is to find the root cause of your issue and be very specific with adjustments to correct the cause. Knowing where specifically to adjust is important, knowing where NOT to adjust is crucial. The Delta-T is what gives us that information.

What is spinal hygiene and why should you care?

According to the World Health Organization, "hygiene refers to conditions or practices conducive to maintaining health."

The spine houses and protects the central nervous system - the master control system of the body. When the spine is compromised, then the nervous system is compromised as well.

By establishing good spinal hygiene habits now, you can increase the health and longevity of your spine. Not only that, but with your nervous system not being stressed, you can experience overall health benefits as well!

By seeing your local chiropractor, you can have the health of your spine assessed. The chiropractor can then address any problems in the spine BEFORE they become a crisis - aka become symptomatic. If it is not a chiropractic problem, then they can refer you to the proper place to have your spinal problems addressed.

A subluxation is a misalignment of a vertebra in the spine which causes interference in the nervous system. This interference will slow or block communication between the brain and body through the affected nerve.

Here at the Gonstead Clinic of Chiropractic, we use a dual probed instrument called a Nervoscope to assess the spine for these potential subluxations. This allows us to be very specific with your care and tailor your adjustments to your unique spine. The goal of the adjustment is to remove the cause of the nerve interference so that communication between the brain and body is restored, allowing your body to perform optimally. The Nervoscope allows the Chiropractor to not only find the area in your spine where a subluxation exists, but also to track the progress of your healing. If nerve interference is not detected, then an adjustment is not warranted at that time.

- Our findings from the initial exam, X-rays and health history.

- Where the root cause of the discomfort and dysfunction you’re experiencing is coming from.

- How long this issue has really been developing, the day you feel a symptom may not be the day the root cause of the issue began.

- Recommendations for the best plan to care for you and your spine.

- and finally, your first adjustment!

Neurons are the cells that make up our nervous system. They transmit messages from the brain to every cell in the body, and from the body back to the brain. As this message is transferred from one neuron to the next, a small amount of light is produced. This phenomenon is known as biophoton emission. It is a byproduct of the neuron's metabolic processes.
