Today, we're celebrating a love story that stands the test of time!

Nina "Claire" Reese, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, joined us last month at our Veterans Pinning Ceremony to honor the legacy of her late husband, William Charles Reese, Jr.

They were married in 1945, and even after all these years, her love for him remains as strong as ever. Thank you, Claire, for sharing this beautiful reminder of a love that lasts a lifetime.

Our recent Veterans Pinning Ceremony was a beautiful and moving tribute to our community's heroes. It was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made not only by our veterans, but by their families as well.

We've been so touched to receive photos from families of their loved ones from "back in the day." It's an incredible honor to see these glimpses into their past and to witness the remarkable journeys they've taken. Thank you for sharing these special memories with us!

Pictured Below: William Pockrus, who served our country for 3 years in the U.S. Army, and Major Jeffrey Johns, who dedicated 20 years of his life to the U.S. Army. William Charles Reese, Jr., a U.S. Army veteran and late husband of Nina Reese.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your enduring commitment.

Once a year, we gather as a community to give a heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers—and this year was truly special! To wrap up our "Volunteerism - the Spirit of Giving Back" month, we celebrated everyone who so generously gives their time and energy to our community.

We took the time to honor each volunteer individually, reading their names and their contributions aloud, followed by a round of warm applause. The highlight of the evening was a delicious, fresh-baked cherry pie, made with love by one of our resident volunteers, Karin!

We ended the celebration by watching a TED Talk about finding meaning through volunteering, which reminded us of this wonderful quote: "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers for giving so much to us. Your kindness makes our community a better place every day.

We love hearing from families! Thank you, Amy for your kind words about Juniper Village at Mount Joy.

What a wonderful time we had last Friday at our Singin’ in the Rain, Broadway Senior cast party! We loved celebrating with the talented cast.

Resident actors were presented with a certificate and a framed photo, and each name was read aloud to much applause. Kind words were shared as the actors reminisced about their performance. Refreshments were served, and everyone truly enjoyed seeing the recording of their show and watching themselves shine on stage!

Juniper offers many wonderful opportunities for residents to connect at social events, live music, special programs, clubs, and so much more!

Recently, we had the pleasure of listening to Pat Kocen's guitar. As one resident shared, "Most evenings I've had my dinner, and head to the evening concerts, a relaxing time of music, compared to going back to my room to watch TV by myself. Just to be there with the people who are having fun and singing along. It's not boring here in the evenings with all the entertainment."
