To the moms packing therapy snacks while other moms pack soccer snacks.

To the caregivers memorizing insurance codes while other families memorize tournament schedules.

To the parents who know the difference between a bad day and a dangerous one.

To the moms who celebrate a haircut, a new food, a first word, a successful transition, a dry morning, a safe bedtime.

To the caregivers who can scan a room for exits, hazards, judgment, and escape routes in under five seconds.

To the moms who have left restaurants, birthday parties, grocery stores, playgrounds, family gatherings, and vacations early.

To the parents who know love can look like laminating visuals at midnight, sleeping with one ear open, or fighting another denial letter before breakfast.

To the caregivers who have been told they’re too much, not doing enough, overreacting, enabling, exaggerating, or making autism look bad.

To the moms carrying binders, meds, snacks, AAC devices, wipes, backup clothes, headphones, and the emotional weight of being misunderstood by people who have never lived this life.

To the siblings who grow up with more patience, more responsibility, and more awareness than most adults.

To the caregivers who keep showing up with love, grit, dark humor and so much resilience.

I see you.

You are not failing because this is hard.

You are not negative because you tell the truth.

And you are not alone, even on the days it feels like the whole world was built for everyone but your family. ❤️

Learning to Co-regulate with your child is a skill that you will be able to draw on during stressful times. It helps children and adults to manage emotions while maintaining connection. It will also help children to grow with a sense of security and the ability to eventually self-regulate. Surely, if you are the parent or the child, this is something we could all use regardless of age.
