The Psychology of the Chakras: A Developmental and Yogic Map of Safety, Identity, and Connection: This 3-hour workshop offers a grounded, psychologically informed understanding of the seven chakras as a developmental map of the human psyche.
Rather than approaching chakras as abstract or mystical concepts, we will explore them as patterns of safety, identity, emotional expression, meaning, and connection that shape how we experience ourselves, our relationships, and life.
Drawing from yoga psychology, subtle body anatomy, Hatha Yoga, developmental psychology, nervous system awareness, and depth psychology, this workshop clarifies how the chakra system describes human growth—from basic survival and self-confidence to love, truth, insight, and connection to life and God.
We will explore:
- What the chakras represent in clear, layperson language
- How each chakra reflects a stage of psychological and emotional development
- How Hatha Yoga views the chakras as an integrated system of body, breath, mind, and awareness
- The role of asana, breath, and attention in supporting the maturation and integration of the chakras
How early experiences and conditioning influence where we feel grounded or stuck
- How depth psychology understood the chakras as symbolic stages of consciousness
- Ways this understanding can deepen both self-inquiry and yoga practice
This workshop is ideal for yoga students, teachers, and anyone interested in a clear, non-fluffy approach to understanding the chakras through psychology, embodiment, and practice.
