Kids Are Great Dental

Kids Are Great Dental Pediatric and Orthodontic Dental Practice The dental practice was established in 1992 by Drs. Gina Lodolini and Neil Capolongo.

In 1996, the addition of Dr. Maritza Bianchi made our dynamic trio complete. Our building was constructed in 1882. The Amuso family members were the first to inhabit the building and call it home. Since then our building has housed several families, has been the site of employment for several professional offices and has even withstood a fire! In 2003, it was restored and remodeled into the Kids Are Great Dental building.

Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️
As parents, you can manage the sugar rush today without completely banning candy. Here are our top tips:

🍽️ Pair with a Meal: Eating candy as a dessert after a full meal helps protect teeth because saliva production is higher.
🍫 Go for Chocolate: It’s less likely to get stuck in the grooves of the teeth.
💦 Rinse and Brush: Follow up with water and supervise brushing for two minutes!

Enjoy the holiday, but remember that moderation and timing are key to protecting your child’s smile!

: Have you heard people say, "They're just baby teeth, they'll fall out"?
That's not entirely true! Baby teeth are vital for proper chewing, speaking, and helping your child’s jaw grow correctly. Most importantly, they act as guides—or space holders—ensuring the permanent teeth erupt in the correct spot. That’s why keeping them healthy until they naturally fall out is so important!

Give your child an extra layer of protection with dental sealants! Sealants are thin coatings that act like a shield to keep food and germs out of the deep parts of the teeth.

🛡️ They are painted on quickly and painlessly.
🦷 They can last for years with proper care.
🥕 They make it easier to keep teeth clean during snacking.

Contact us to see if sealants are right for your little one.

Winter fun is in full swing, but sledding and ice skating can sometimes lead to unexpected tumbles! If your child chips or knocks out a tooth, try to stay calm and call us right away. If a permanent tooth comes out, keep it moist in a small container of milk or saliva while you head to our office.

Want to introduce flossing without the fuss?

🧵 Try Floss Picks: Many kids find the colorful plastic picks much easier to handle than long strings.

🧵 Be a Role Model: Let them see you flossing your own teeth so they know it’s a normal part of the day.

🧵 Use Positive Praise: A little "High Five" after flossing goes a long way! Need a demonstration? We’re happy to show you some easy techniques at your next visit.

Make your child’s lunch both delicious and "dentist-approved" with these simple swaps:

🧀 Swap Chips for Cheese: Cheese adds calcium and cleans the teeth.
🍎 Swap Fruit Snacks for Whole Fruit: Real apples or berries don't stick to teeth like gummy snacks do.
💧 Swap Juice for Water: Water is the best way to rinse away lunch leftovers.
🥦 Add Veggies: Celery and cucumbers are like nature’s little toothbrushes!
