For many of us, being a veterinarian is a life calling and it is a privilege to be able to provide care to our patients. Sometimes we have to take a collective look around and remember that all of us are only human ❤️
I do not personally know the situation referenced in this video or these particular people but similar scenarios play out time and time again when grief may cloud judgement. The message is solid - let's remember to be kind, even when it isn't easy.

We're happy our naughty boy Norman is feeling better after his accidental rodenticide (rat bait) ingestion this weekend. We were not aware of rodenticide on our property and are so grateful that we happened to see him eating it - this allowed us to intervene to save him. Here he is pictured with his most regret filled expression after successful decontamination efforts 🤮

This is a good opportunity to spread awareness of the dangers of rodenticide, which harms more than just the target mice/rats. Accidental exposures occur to pets as well as to the wildlife that rely on the poisoned mice for food. Whenever possible, humane efforts to control pest populations should be considered as an alternative to poison.

Rodenticide toxicity can cause various severe complications and in severe cases can lead to death. If you suspect your pet may have ingested any toxin, prompt veterinary attention is recommended.
