CMS has finalized the CY 2026 DMEPOS Competitive Bidding rule, which includes ostomy and urological supplies—a change strongly opposed by the wound, ostomy, and continence community.

This decision raises concerns about:
-Patient choice
-Continuity of care
-Safety and quality of life

WOCN Society stands with patient and clinician groups condemning Medicare's decision to include essential ostomy, urological, and tracheostomy supplies in the Competitive Bidding Program. These are individualized, life-sustaining prosthetics—not commodities.
