State College Medical participated in Centre County's Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony which honored loved ones and community members lost to overdose. 💜

They were proud to present their "Empty Chair" memorial at this event, which was created by SCM staff and symbolizes the absence of individuals lost to overdose. A jar was placed on the chair in which attendees could place a marble to represent the life of their lost loved one.

State College Medical will display the chair and the marble jar in their facility throughout September's National Recovery Month. Patients will be invited to remember friends and family lost to overdose by placing a marble in the jar and having a moment to reflect on their memory at the chair. ✨

Recovery Works Martinsville proudly showed support for Overdose Awareness Day. It was a heartfelt day where everyone paid tribute to loved ones lost to addiction.

A moving part of the day involved patients and staff placing flags, creating a powerful display of remembrance. Patients then gathered for a reflective circle indoors, where everyone shared their experiences with overdose, offering a space for connection and healing. 💜
