For Krista Collins, our Community Relations Coordinator in Virginia, her passion for helping others began in the most personal way imaginable.
Four years ago, Krista found her son after he overdosed. She administered Narcan, called 911, and saved his life. Today, he’s in recovery - learning, growing and thriving! That moment is a reminder of the families behind every person we serve. “Every patient is someone else’s child, just as important as my own.”
Her experience continues to shape her work, connecting with people across the state who share one mission: helping others find hope and healing, without judgement. With nearly 20 years in the behavioral health field, Krista has built strong partnerships from Roanoke to Northern Virginia. She calls it “a community of providers who work together, celebrate one another’s successes and grow to meet the diverse needs of those we serve.”
Krista loves her job and her favorite part? “I get paid to make friends!” Whether she’s meeting new people, discovering what’s needed in a community or supporting partners who entrust us with patient care, she brings heart, compassion and energy to everything she does.
