It’s Milestone Monday! This week, Erin, one of our speech therapists, is breaking down the early stages of vocal development. Every "oooh," "aaah," and "ba-ba-ba" is a major step toward those precious first words!

What to listen for:
2-4 Months: Cooing! Think soft vowel sounds like "oooo" and "ahhh."

6 Months: Babbling begins! You’ll hear repetitive consonant sounds like "ba-ba-ba" or "ma-ma-ma."

These early sounds are the building blocks of communication. Keep talking and singing back to your little ones—they’re learning more than you think!

Have you noticed any new sounds from your little one lately? Tell us about them in the comments! 👇

It’s Milestone Monday! Join Joelle as she explores a major development for little ones: the pincer grasp. Between 9 and 12 months, babies start using their thumb and forefinger to pick up small objects.

From practicing with snacks like puffs to discovering things on the floor you’d rather they didn’t touch, this is a fun—and busy—stage!

Tips for this stage:
Offer small, soft finger foods to practice.

Keep a close eye on those floors!

Celebrate their newfound independence.

What has your little one been practicing their pincer grasp on? Share with us below! 👇

Rolling into a new week with Milestone Monday! 👶🔄

Is your little one starting to move and groove? Rolling is one of those exciting first steps toward independent movement! Here is what you need to know about this major developmental stage:

⏱️ When Does it Happen?
Most babies start rolling independently between 3 and 7 months of age.

🔄 Belly to Back
This often happens first and can even be a bit of an accident!

Because a baby's head is relatively heavy, they might tilt to look at something and—whoops!—over they go.

🔄 Back to Belly
Rolling from back to belly requires a bit more intentional strength.

A great sign that your baby is getting ready for this is when they start reaching for their feet. This movement helps build the core strength needed to pull themselves over.

đź’ˇ Pro Tip from a Pediatric PT:
Give your baby plenty of floor time to practice! Reaching for toys or their own toes is the best workout for those growing muscles.

Every baby moves at their own pace, so enjoy the journey as they discover what their bodies can do! ✨
