Happy and Healthy New Year to all.

I was fortunate in being able to get the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine yesterday through the efforts of Aspen Hills Healthcare Center, the skilled nursing facility at which I am on staff. There were no immediate side effects and I was able to do my usual exercise last night. As of this morning, only a little soreness in my arm.

Hopefully, more vaccine doses will become available and everyone will be able to get one. Continue to be careful with masks, social distancing and hand washing. Given the reported 95% efficacy of the vaccine we can hope to get back to some manner of normality with this and continued vigilance.

You can now pre-register for the vaccine at covidvaccine.nj.gov

The new strain raises questions: Is the coronavirus more contagious? Will the vaccines still work? Are there different things you should do to keep safe?
