Many of us set intentions – in our work, our personal lives, or even our yoga practice!

Intention-setting can help us identify and align with what’s truly important to us.

But what about embodying our intentions?

When we have an intention we want to manifest in our lives…
Whether it’s a:
☮️Quality we want to cultivate
❤️Feeling we want to experience
🎯Goal we want to achieve
…Infusing that intention in body and mind may help us be more successful with manifesting it.

In a world full of distraction, how do you protect your attention?

By definition, distractions draw our attention away from what we want to be doing.

They pull us away from:
⚠️Projects or tasks that lead us closer to our goals.
⚠️Interactions that build our sense of connection.
⚠️Intentional moments that bring us toward lasting joy and well-being.

Even things that are important to us or that we enjoy can become distractions when they pull us away from the things that matter the most.

For example…

✅It’s important to me to stay informed and engaged in the world…
⛔️…but not at the expense of my mental well-being.

✅I also enjoy reading interesting articles and streaming my favorite shows…
⛔️…but not at the expense of my sleep and health.

The yogic practice of pratyahara (withdrawal and control of the senses) can help us rein in our senses, calm our minds, and bring our attention back to the present moment.

In our free practice circle this week, we’ll explore some of these pratyahara techniques together, including:

This month, it will be twenty years since I began teaching yoga. 🎉

I discovered yoga as a teenager and was immediately drawn to it.

📖 The philosophy of yoga was (and still is) endlessly fascinating to me - and beyond that, it resonated on a deep and spiritual level.

🧘‍♀️ The practice of yoga (on and off the mat) helped me in ways I never expected – physically, mentally, and emotionally. I began to heal my relationship with myself and better cope with stress, regulate emotions, and manage anxiety.

Naturally, I could not wait to share this with others. So, I started teaching yoga informally to my classmates, family, and friends – and when I was a senior in high school, I landed my first official teaching job.

Now – after over 1,000 hours of yoga training, a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion, and numerous other trainings in health coaching, mindfulness, stress management, and more – it’s a joy to continue doing what I love and allow my work and career to evolve with my insatiable curiosity and passion for health and well-being.

Here’s to the next twenty years! 🙌

When our world feels stressful and uncertain, we may feel more vulnerable, fearful, anxious, and out of control in our lives.

In times like these, it can be helpful to ground ourselves, find our center, and reconnect to our source of personal power.

Connecting to our core – in body, mind, and spirit – can help us find our sense of inner strength, confidence, and resilience.

From a holistic perspective, our “core” can include our:
✅ Physical core – the muscles of our abdomen, back, diaphragm, and pelvic floor.
✅ Energetic core – the energy center at the naval plexus.
✅ Mental and emotional core – the values we hold deep within us.
✅ Spiritual core – the soul, self, or source deep within.

In our free Mindful Healthy You Practice Circle this week, we’ll explore how we can connect to and strengthen our core – in body, mind, and spirit – to help us stay centered during turbulent times.

I started the Mindful Healthy You Practice Circle because I wanted to build a virtual community where people can learn about mind-body techniques and practice them together. I wanted to create a space for them to reflect, cultivate self-awareness, and connect with others. And I wanted it to be free and accessible to all.

Each month in our free Mindful Healthy You Practice Circle, we’ll come together in community and explore mind-body practices – like yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.

These practices helped me get through challenging times in my own life. They provided me with an effective way to manage my anxiety, cope with stress, deal with difficult emotions, and cultivate self-awareness. This ultimately transformed my life and the trajectory of my career and shaped how I approached parenting and motherhood.

Now, it’s my great joy to be able to share these powerful practices with others.
