Do you set New Year’s Resolutions, or do something different?
A new year.
A fresh start.
Shifting your focus.
While I love all of those things, I've never been one to make a huge deal out of New Years'. It's actually a time I feel more called to rest and calm my nervous system after all of the holiday fun & chaos.
I'm a goal setter by nature, always have been, but I like to break them down into monthly or quarterly goals or even by the season we’re in.
Now that I'm 41, with 3 kids +1 bonus son, a husband, and a business I have non-negotiables of exercising & eating clean 90% of the time to be able to function fully and not be a complete grouch to my family 😁
However, the winter restful/ calming activities I like to focus on in this season are red light therapy, infrared sauna, reading, drinking warm tea and cooking warming foods such as soups. I also love to be able to get outside for a walk when the temperatures aren't subzero!
I hope this helps some of you who may be feeling out of rhythm with the whole "new year/ new me" messaging that we are bombarded with!
