Dear friends,

I would like to share that I have made the difficult decision to close Moeller Family Practice effective August 30, 2024. It has been a wonderful six years, and I have so enjoyed getting to know you and your families.

I have accepted a family nurse practitioner position with University of Iowa Health Care at the River Crossing Clinic in Riverside, Iowa. I would enjoy continuing to work with you all at this new location.

If you are a current patient and you did not receive a letter regarding this transition, please call the clinic at 319-385-4915 to confirm your current address.

Good Afternoon.
Due to impending weather, our office will close TODAY at 3 PM. We will resume normal hours starting again tomorrow on Wednesday May 22nd. Thank you and be safe!

Spring is in the air! Moeller Family Practice will be CLOSED on MONDAY, MARCH 11th.

Provider will also be out of office from TUESDAY, MARCH 12th through FRIDAY, MARCH 15th, however we will try to have staff in the office to answer the phone and take note of walk-in concerns if needed.
Please contact your pharmacy if you need medication refills.

We plan to be fully open again on MONDAY, MARCH 18th and look forward to seeing you all again! Enjoy the nice weather when you can!

See you tonight at the Back to School Health Fair!!

Just want to give a shout out to all the organizations who are joining us! Fullsmoke bbq and Casa Bella Potosina food trucks will be selling delicious dinner options including small portions for kids. I-Smile Dental Home Initiative will be doing the dental screenings. American Eyecare will be doing the vision screenings. Henry County Health Center, Moeller Family Practice, and Family Medicine of Mount Pleasant P.C. will have physicians doing the sports physicals (not regular physicals) and one doing skin checks on kids and adults. Of course we (Public Health) will be doing the immunizations (back-to-school shots ONLY) and lead testing.
Community organizations having tables include Mount Pleasant REC Center, Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services of Southeast Iowa, HJ Nugen Public Library, Winfield Public Library, Mount Pleasant Community School District, Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, Domestic Violence Intervention Program, Quad-County Community Partnerships for Protecting Children - CPPC, and Community Action of Southeast Iowa, Head Start/EHS. This is our first time doing this event so we hope it helps families get ready for school, parents can access community resources, and kids can have a little fun!

Today is the third year that Juneteenth is being observed as a Federal holiday! On June 19, 1865, Federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure that enslaved people were freed, over 2 years after Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863.

It is a celebration of contributions that Black people have made to American culture, and a way to commemorate the long struggle towards freedom from slavery.
