Did you know...
ABA isn’t just for your kids?! You can also use self-management strategies to change your own behavior over time 😱

Have a task that is difficult for your child to complete?

Try breaking the task down into smaller parts and allow your child to complete one part at a time. Remember to provide social praise and reinforcers (things they often ask for that you can typically use as incentive for them to do something) as they make progress in completing the task!

I’m considering offering a teen group to help kids with social deficits. If you would be interested in something like this, please let me know!!

It’s kind of sad when your husband uses the ABA skills he learned from you ON you to keep from telling you your Christmas present 😂

Applied Behavior Analysis is a scientific approach that examines observable behaviors and environmental factors to determine functions of behavior and develop more appropriate behaviors that can serve the same function.

🧩🧩🧩🧩🧩🧩

Sometimes this is as simple as planned ignoring undesired behaviors and teaching the behavior of appropriately requesting. Sometimes, however, the behavior and environment must be studied more closely and we must be inventive when choosing our replacement behaviors.

🧩🧩🧩🧩🧩

Although it’s nice when the function of the behavior is simply cut and dry, it can be fun to be creative when trying to change behaviors! Behaviors often serve more than one function, so we are also often teaching more than one replacement behavior.

🧩🧩🧩🧩

Because everyone is different, each behavior change plan is individually designed to meet that person’s specific needs.

🧩🧩🧩
