May is Older Americans Month — a time to celebrate the wisdom, resilience, and contributions of older adults in our communities. ❤️

At Senior Care Authority, we believe aging should be met with dignity, respect, and support. Whether families are exploring independent living, assisted living, memory care, or simply need guidance navigating senior care options, we’re here to help every step of the way.

Because growing older should never mean facing challenges alone.

As a daughter of a nurse and a sister of a nurse, I have so much respect for nurses and the incredible work that they do every single day. Their compassion, strength, and dedication touch lives in ways that often go unseen, from comforting families during difficult moments to advocating tirelessly for their patients.

During National Nurses Week, I want to say thank you to all nurses for the care, resilience, and humanity you bring to healthcare. The impact you make extends far beyond the bedside, and so many of us are grateful for you every day. Happy Nurses Week!

🧠 May is National Stroke Awareness Month

Stroke Awareness Month is a reminder of how quickly care needs can change.

Knowing the signs of a stroke—and what to do next—can make a critical difference. Just as important is understanding the care options available during recovery.

After a stroke, families are often faced with urgent decisions about rehabilitation and ongoing care. Senior Care Authority helps guide you through those choices, ensuring your loved one receives the appropriate level of support.

Knowing when it's time to hang up the keys can be one of the most emotional and challenging transitions for older adults - and for their families. 🚗

Senior Care Authority’s Beyond Driving with Dignity® program offers supportive, respectful guidance to help families navigate this transition with care. We provide tools to start the conversation, evaluate safety, and identify transportation alternatives that keep seniors active, connected, and confident.

With the right approach, this change doesn’t have to feel overwhelming; it can be a positive step toward continued safety and peace of mind.

We’re here to help every step of the way. 💙

Let’s make early detection the new standard of care!

Just as with cancer and heart disease, treating Alzheimer's earlier leads to significantly better outcomes.

Fortunately, new FDA-cleared blood tests can now identify the disease in its earliest stages, allowing patients to access new treatments at the point when they can be most effective. This is exactly what Americans want. More than 9 in 10 Americans say they would take a simple test for Alzheimer’s.

Under current law, Medicare cannot cover any dementia screening test for people without symptoms — a legal barrier only Congress can fix. Unlike similar tests for many other diseases, until Congress acts, Medicare can't pay for these tests.

The bipartisan ASAP Act clears the roadblock.

Congress can take this common‑sense step so people can benefit from treatment when it matters most. This is our moment to make early detection the new standard of care.

Help amplify the message and ask your members of Congress to cosponsor and advance the ASAP Act.

The QR code will take you directly to the link - it takes less than two minutes to ask members of Congress to support the ASAP Act 💜.

Staying active is one of the most powerful ways older adults can maintain independence, boost mood, and improve overall health. And the best part? Exercise doesn’t have to be intense to make a difference.

A short daily walk, light stretching, or even chair exercises can help:
✔️ Improve balance and reduce fall risk
✔️ Strengthen muscles and joints
✔️ Support heart and brain health
✔️ Enhance emotional well-being

At Senior Care Authority, we believe healthy aging includes staying active, at every level. If you or a loved one need support finding a community or care option that encourages wellness and activity, we’re here to help. 💙
