MEET MS. EMILY 🤍🌱
•••
Emily graduated from Clemson University in the fall of 2020 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Then, she attended the Medical University of South Carolina and earned her Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy in May of 2024. Emily has completed continuing education courses related to the following topic areas: self-regulation strategies through "Powerfully You" curriculum as well as screen use in children and its impact on overall development.
Emily joined Bloom's therapy team in August of 2024. Emily loves pediatric occupational therapy, because she enjoys finding creative solutions to help educate, equip, and empower her clients and their families for the routines and activities of their daily lives. She is passionate about connecting with her clients through play-based interventions, meeting them where they are and helping them to develop new skills from their unique strengths! Her favorite treatment interventions involve multiple step activities that incorporate integrating gross and fine motor skills into a child's favorite occupation, play-- "such as using animal walks in an obstacle course to reach a destination where a child then manipulates objects using tongs." Additionally, Emily enjoys incorporating "Powerfully You" regulation concepts through playing various board games with her clients!
Emily loves to eat any type of pasta, enjoys hunting for shark teeth, and likes to read in her spare time! Emily is also a skilled photographer and has a heart for service, regularly giving her time to medical mission trips!
