This month's 𝓢𝓽𝓪𝓯𝓯 𝓢𝓹𝓸𝓽𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 is on Katrina Dilley, RN/BSN. Katrina is a nurse in our Mt Pleasant office. Katrina went to the The University of Vermont for nursing school then started her career in the surgical trauma ICU. Eventually, she became a travel ICU nurse which brough her to Charleston. She had one more stop as a pediatric cardiac ICU nurse before joining the Coastal Fertility family. 💚💙

Katrina's passion is helping patients through their medical journey, and she's constantly inspired by their strength and perseverance. Katrina loves teaching her patients about the IVF treatment process and guiding them step by step through what can sometimes be a difficult road. "I try to direct the focus to their extraordinary resilience and small actionable steps that we can take to move forward from wherever they are in their journey," she says.

In her spare time, Katrina loves to cook and bake, spend time with family and friends, and she's learning to play the guitar. Most importantly, she tries to find joy every day! Thank you for everything you do for our patients, Katrina! We love working with you! 💚💙

Is fertility decline only about egg quality? New research says maybe not.

A recent study of more than 33,000 donor egg transfers found that even when using eggs from young donors, reproductive outcomes declined with advancing maternal age — suggesting the uterus itself may play an independent role.

This challenges the long-held belief that embryo quality alone drives age-related fertility changes.
