In addition to general wellness exams and preventative care, we also have a full in house lab, X-ray, and offer laser therapy. Tidewater Veterinary offers dentals, along with dental X-ray, and all types of soft tissue surgery. Our Doctors and Staff look forward to meeting the needs of your pet, so they can live a long and happy life!

At Tidewater Veterinary, the team understands that many dogs coming into the clinic are experiencing big life changes—especially those who have recently been adopted. Moving into a new home, meeting a new family, and adjusting to unfamiliar routines can be overwhelming for a dog. When a veterinary visit is added to that list of new experiences, it can sometimes cause anxiety or fear.

The staff at Tidewater Veterinary works closely with families to help their pets feel safe and supported during this transition. They recognize that every dog adjusts at their own pace, and they strive to create a calm, welcoming environment where nervous pets can slowly build confidence. Simple approaches—like getting down on the dog’s level, allowing them time to explore the space, speaking softly, and offering treats or reassurance—can make a big difference in helping a shy dog feel more comfortable.
