They were diagnosed with an infiltrative basal cell carcinoma (BCC)—a more aggressive type of skin cancer that tends to grow deeper into the skin and surrounding tissue compared to other basal cell types. Because infiltrative BCC doesn’t always appear as a classic “spot” on the skin, it can be harder to detect without a professional skin exam.

🩺Thankfully, through early detection and expert care, Dr. Smith Phillips performed a precise surgical incision to fully remove the basal cell carcinoma.
