Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual Memorial Day service and parade. Special thanks to Mt. Pleasant Tower of Power Marching Band for performing and Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department and Mutual Vfd for providing traffic control

Members began last evening training on drafting operations with our low profile strainers and jet siphons on Engine 37-1. While training we were activated to assist Hecla Vfd with a 2 vehicle accident with injuries. Rescue 37 and Engine 37-1 responded. Rescue 37 remained on scene for 2 hours providing lighting. Also on the vehicle accident were Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department and Mt. Pleasant VFD

Engine 37-1 and Rescue 37 were invited to participate in the triennial disaster drill at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. Multiple Fire, EMS and Police agencies from Southwestern PA were involved. EMS certified members were able to assist EMS with triage and patient care. Rescue 37 was also utilized to transport ambulatory patients.

Engine/Rescue 37-2 and Rescue 37 responded into Mt Pleasant Twp for a working trailer fire with persons possibly trapped. Engine/Rescue 37-2 with 4 members arrived second into the scene and established a water supply to Engine 38-2 and deployed a hand-line into the trailer for suppression and search. Interior crews from 37 and 38 confirmed no one trapped. Rescue 37 arrived with manpower and refilled cylinders. Thank you to Pleasant Unity VFD for the standby.

Members weren’t scared away by the chilly air last evening and spent time reviewing pump operations and handline usage. New operators spent time switching between tank water and pressurized water sources while operating master stream devices and handlines. Engine 37-1, Engine Rescue 37 and Reserve Engine 37 are all laid out in a similar configuration to allow the operators to easily switch between apparatus.
