Maryland has debated environmental justice for over a decade — and fallen behind. States like NJ, NY, and MN have acted. The CHERISH Our Communities Act would protect communities overburdened by pollution and address real health harms faced by Black and low-wealth neighborhoods. It’s time for Maryland to lead.

TOMORROW! Join the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments’ Food and Agriculture Committee for a virtual webinar event, Examining the 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines: Implications for Human and Environmental Health, on January 21st at 4:30 - 5:30 pm ET. We invite you to join this timely discussion of the newly released 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

While the guidelines include recommendations that align with improved nutrition and public health, key areas fall short of fully reflecting the best available science. These gaps have important implications for human health, environmental sustainability, climate impacts, and health equity.

This discussion will examine:
- The newly released 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines
- How food system and dietary recommendations influence environmental and community health
- The role of nurses as trusted advocates in advancing evidence-based, sustainable food and agriculture policies
- Opportunities for engagement and advocacy to support healthier people and a healthier planet

We all deserve clean air, safe water, and products that won’t harm our families.

But big corporations are polluting our food, air, and water with toxic chemicals. And now they’re trying to further weaken the rules that protect our health — without public attention or accountability.

Take Down Toxics is here to shine a light on what’s happening and to make sure the rules protect our health and families, not corporate profits.

🚨 Our health is on the line. Right now, chemical industry lobbyists are pushing Congress to reopen and weaken the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) — risking rollbacks of protections that keep dangerous chemicals out of our air, water, workplaces, and homes. TSCA has helped ban asbestos, dangerous paint st*****rs, and harmful degreasers — and has prevented new toxic chemicals from flooding the market.

👉 Take action today: Tell your members of Congress & Senators to oppose any effort to reopen or weaken TSCA — and to defend strong safeguards for people and the planet👇
