Here are a few physical therapy activities you can do at home with your child to help develop motor movements:

1. Walk across pillows on the floor

2. Roll up a blanket length-wise to make a "balance beam" and to jump over (jump forward and sideways)

3. Toe taps on top of a soccer ball or small cone for single leg balance

4. Squatting to pick up objects placed on top of child's foot

5. Animal walks - bear crawl, crab walk, dog/cat crawl, duck walk, snake slither

6. Stand on a pillow (for balance) or in tall kneeling (kneel with bottom up off heels for strengthening) and toss a ball back and forth

Language Milestones at 10-12 months of age
-Points, waves, and shows or gives objects.
-Imitates and initiates gestures for engaging in social interactions and playing games, like blowing kisses or playing peek-a-boo.
-Tries to copy sounds that you make.
-Enjoys dancing.
-Responds to simple words and phrases like “Go bye-bye” and “Look at Mommy.”
-Says one or two words—like mama, dada, hi, and bye.
