The anxiety, intrusive thoughts, rage, sadness, disconnection, or feeling like youโre not yourself can creep in quietly. Postpartum can feel really overwhelming sometimes.
May is Maternal Mental Health Month and we want to take a moment to focus on postpartum mental health because it still is not talked about nearly enough.
At The Very Best Doulas, our postpartum doulas are trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
Sometimes that looks like noticing a parent who seems unlike themselves. Someone who feels constantly on edge, emotionally checked out, overstimulated, hopeless, panicked, or like they are drowning trying to keep up.
We support families in real time and help connect them with trusted mental health professionals and support resources when needed. You are not meant to carry all of this alone
You do not have to navigate this alone ๐
