Spent a beautiful day yesterday at the Oak Harbor Mothership Birth Center facility. The work is moving along so well and the calendula in the yard is growing like crazy! Great harvest that will become healing salve. Come and say hello to us at the Whidbey Health Baby Resource Expo on June 7th from 11-4. Free Mom’s Wellness Event

Perinatal Support Washington’s Skagit Perinatal Resilience Program is partnering with Acknowledge Wellness, Mothership Family Village and the Doula Centered Network to offer a free Mom’s Wellness retreat!

Come together with birth workers, wellness practitioners and peer wellness support specials to “refill you cup!” We will be lead in a sound based grounding activity, learn about blending teas and herbs to support wellness, create a mug to take home and have a change to discuss the realities of motherhood.

Childcare provided!

Light Refreshments and Snacks!

Space is limited and you will need to pre-register!

Midwife Angie - Life is funny how it circles around. My third son turned 20 on the 8th. I am reminded of my wonderful Midwife Norla. She showed me what it looks like for a provider to be calm and confident and believe in my abilities as a woman to bring my baby into this world. She was there to keep my baby, and I safe and simultaneously held us in such loving kindness. I didn’t know back then that that experience would change my whole life. I traveled 2 hours to see her at the Topeka Birth Center. I was determined to have my second VBAC and she supported me fully. She showed me that there is more than the hospital experience. That you can have an empowering physiologic birth. That birth can enhance you if you let it.

Thought the expensive bougie water bottles might be better for a bit and came back unequivocally to the tried and true bendy straw bottles that are tall, skinny, and fit in a cup holder. Something MAGICAL about a bendy straw!!

The Mothership Family Village is up and running! Our first group offering is starting this Thursday from 10-12. This is a weekly new parent group. Come make some new mom friends!
We are working on getting groups together including walking groups and due date clubs. We have a cheese making class in March and we will have the first annual Mothership Baby Expo during the Tulip Street Fair. You can stop in to feed your baby, change a diaper, catch your breath during the street fair and learn about local midwives, the Mothership Birth Center, our Naturopath Dr. Heather Almvig, local doulas, and so much more!
