On Sunday, September 21, our Wartburg family gathered for our Annual Service of Prayer and Remembrance, a sacred tradition where we honor and remember those who passed during the past year.

Each family received a white rose as their loved one’s name was called - a simple yet powerful reminder of love that endures. Together, we also blessed memorial benches, trees, and bricks gifted to Wartburg in memory and in honor of cherished loved ones and friends.

This year’s service was led by Rev. Kimberli Lile, Presiding, with a heartfelt message from Father Paul Fagan, Preaching. We were also blessed to welcome Margaret Kim, our new Minister of Music, and inspired by the moving performance of award-winning violist, Dr. Sung Jin Lee.

At Wartburg, we believe remembrance is a vital part of healing and community. We thank all who joined us in this beautiful tribute. May the memories of those we hold dear continue to be a blessing.

A Special Visit to Meadowview

Residents at Meadowview enjoyed a truly unique experience this week thanks to Christine’s Critters! The team brought along their magnificent birds of prey and delivered an entertaining and educational presentation about their habits, adaptations, and importance to our environment.

From awe-inspiring close encounters to fascinating stories about each bird’s rescue and rehabilitation, the visit was both engaging and enlightening. Smiles and wide eyes filled the room as residents learned how these incredible creatures contribute to the balance of nature.

In Honor of Senior Citizens Day, Wartburg Hit a Home Run for the Community!

This year, Senior Citizens Day was celebrated at Wartburg in the most joyful way — with a Community Baseball Day that brought together generations, neighbors, and friends.

Our Mount Vernon/Westchester community came together in a big way — with 50 volunteers from more than 15 local organizations and service groups, we turned our campus into a true festival of connection.

The celebration began with the electrifying beats of the Ice Cold Performing Arts Drumline, followed by all the baseball festivities— speed pitch, batting practice, games, delicious food, intergenerational activities, and nonstop dancing.

The highlight of the day? A once-in-a-lifetime meet-and-greet with Yankee legends Willie Randolph & Oswaldo Cabrera, plus a special visit from Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, and sports entrepreneur Brandon Steiner joined the celebration!

From henna tattoos and caricatures to hopscotch, line dancing, and simply sharing smiles across generations, one thing was certain: a great time was had by all.

Most importantly, the day reminded us why we celebrate our seniors: their resilience, their joy, and their irreplaceable role in our communities.
Endless thanks to our incredible staff, board, residents, and volunteers who made this day possible. Together, we created memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Story

We always come to a point where we know we are ready for change, but may be hesitant to take that first step. With Wartburg, our integrated senior-care services are designed to be convenient and comfortable for the patient and his or her family. We offer a few different options for health care for seniors in order to cater to you. Live at Wartburg • Independent Living • Assisted Living • Nursing Home • Hospice Care • Memory Care • Rehabilitation • Live at Home • Adult Day Care • Home Care • Rehabilitation • Respite Care • Caregiver Support Our options provide convenience customized to each patient and his or her family. For those who choose to live at home, round-trip transportation is available for patients from their homes to Wartburg’s facility. Plus, Medicaid and other long-term care insurance plans are eligible for payments. We are specialists in Alzheimer’s and dementia, so you can rest assured that even the toughest of times are handled with attention and care. For those who choose to live at Wartburg, we have a variety of townhouses and apartments to choose from, all within a lovely retirement community. Better yet, there is no entrance fee or long-term commitment. We even have a designated assisted living community for those with memory loss, including 15 safe and secure apartments with specialized award-winning nurses on staff. Our adult day care is a great program, being the only one in Westchester open seven days a week. When you need assistance, we plan to give it to you, no matter what day of the week it is. Medicaid and other health care policies are accepted, as well as round-trip transportation and specialty programs for Alzheimer’s and dementia are offered. No matter what living arrangements you choose, we always offer our caregiver support. We help those in Westchester, NY find the support and care they need with our professional guidance and counseling. We have specialized support groups, as well, to cater to each individual’s situation. For those interested, we also offer spiritual care.
