The Committee for Public Health (Knox County, OH) The proposed Health Levy is for 0.8 mill - it's a replacement of the current levy, but will be billed at 2016 property values which means an increase.

The Health Levy will generate about $140,000 more a year. The levy if for five years. The practice of public health has been a part of the fabric of Knox County for over 100 years. From restaurant inspections to immunizations, tobacco cessation to home health care, promoting nutrition to encouraging exercise, the Knox County Health Department provides services that are GOOD FOR YOU! Public health

At its monthly meeting Wednesday night (5/18/22), the Knox County Board of Health voted unanimously to seek approval to place a 1 mill operating levy on the Nov. 8 ballot.

The proposed health levy is a replacement and will be for 5 years.

The levy request now goes to the Knox County Commissioners for approval and then to the county auditor for certification.

Once we get approval from the commissioners and certification from the auditor indicating the exact cost to taxpayers, we will provide more information.
