What a Derby Day! 🐎💐

We held our own “Run for the Roses” on Saturday and crowned four champions 🏆:
• Lorraine riding strong with Buster
• Shirley & Nancy teaming up with Silver Streak
• Richard blazing ahead on Heat of the Night
• Jeff sprinting to victory with Ned Neederlander

After our race, we settled in for the main event with homemade mint juleps and our best decorated hats. Already looking forward to next year’s photo finish!

😁 We had the best day welcoming eight wonderful 8th graders from Mount Vernon Christian School!

Mrs. Martin and their chaperone, Christian, joined them as they spent the day getting to know our residents — and what a joy it was! The morning was filled with friendly competition and lots of laughter as we played Rummikub, Jeopardy, and baseball ⚾, and we wrapped up the afternoon with a lively game of bingo.

✨ Our residents especially loved how the girls joined them for lunch and took the time to truly connect. Their kindness and energy brightened our whole community. A heartfelt thank you to Mount Vernon Christian School for spending the day with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime!

🌿✨ We had such a wonderful time with Ginger, our new Health & Wellness Director, as she led residents through a hands‑on sensory experience in creating their very own custom tea blends. 🍵🫖 Residents explored the aromas and benefits of each herb, learned how different ingredients work together, and then enjoyed a warm cup of the blend they crafted themselves. It was relaxing, educational, and full of smiles — the perfect combination. We’re already looking forward to next month’s wellness activity with Ginger! 🧘‍♀️🌱

Denise and Robert brought a little New Orleans magic to our community yesterday with a fresh batch of warm, fluffy beignets! ⚜️

Robert has been sharing stories from his trips to the Big Easy, so we decided to bring a taste of that beautiful Cajun charm right here to Skagit County. They were easier to make than we expected, and the best part was watching both residents and staff enjoy every last bite. 😋
