We’re pleased to announce we’ll be re-opening on Tuesday May 19th! Over the past few weeks our staff has worked diligently adding additional measures to keep our patients, ourselves, and our community healthy. Here’s one new measure we’ll be adding: checking in from your car! To read more about what changes you can expect at your next appointment, visit our website www.skagitdental.com
One more month to go before restrictions on dental care are lifted! We’re looking forward to see our wonderful patients and team members again! In the meantime, keeping busy with art, baking, splitting wood, and enjoying the sunshine! What have you been doing while staying home and healthy? We’d love to see a picture in the comments below!
Thank you all for being so understanding as we’ve called to reschedule you during this closure!! ❤️❤️
Here’s a nice summary chart I received this morning:
The updates just keep on coming! Here is the current status of our office.
By proclamation of Govenor Inslee, all dental offices in Washington State have been ordered closed. If you had an appointment scheduled between now and May 18th, it has been canceled. We cannot provide any dental care other than emergencies which are generally defined as potentially life threatening, severe pain or infection, trauma, and bleeding. If you are a patient of record and are experiencing a dental problem of this magnitude, please call Dr. Heron at 360-391-4903. She will determine what care may be allowed under this new legal decree. Thank you for your understanding as we all experience upheavals in our lives due to the coronavirus.
Good evening patients and friends,
Yesterday dentists across Washington were recommended by the Department of Health to postpone all non-emergent dental care for the next 2 weeks in an effort to help keep people isolated at home, and reduce the demand for personal protective equipment (masks for example). In accordance with these recommendations we have suspended our normal operations for the next two weeks.
If you have an appointment between March 17 and April 4, your appointment has been canceled. We will reach out to you to reschedule once dental offices have been cleared to resume normal activity.
During this time we will have someone in office from 9am-2pm to answer and return phone calls, and our doctors will be reachable to address emergencies for our patients of record. If you have an emergency, please call our regular office number: 360-424-9045.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Thank you, and stay safe!

Good evening all!
Wanted to share some updates regarding our office’s operation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
First, yes, we’re still open and are treating patients as usual. In addition to our regular thorough cleaning of treatment rooms, we are disinfecting doorknobs, countertops, and pens throughout our whole office multiple times a day. You will also notice a lack of magazines and children’s toys in the waiting room to decrease potentially infectious surfaces.
Second, should you keep your regularly scheduled appointment? Yes. The Department of Health made the following statement:
“The best thing for your health is to keep up with your regularly scheduled check-ups – medical, mental health, and dental. However, if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 but have not had close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, follow our guidance on self-quarantine”
Lastly, if you feel ill or have cold/flu-like symptoms, absolutely stay home and get some rest. 🙂 Let us know you are sick and we’ll cancel your appointment so you can focus on getting well. Once you’re feeling better give us a call to re-book your appointment!
Now go wash your hands because your phone is filthy!
We are looking forward to another year of serving you!
We want to thank you for your loyalty this year and let you know that we will be closing our office for the holidays in order to give our awesome employees a chance to celebrate.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you when we return on Janurary 2nd, 2020!
Monday morning got me like
Lefsefest 2019! What holiday traditions does your family have?
Each year the Otterholts get together to make Lefse and enjoy quality time together. Here's a few shots from this weekend.
Our hygienist Melissa went all out at her place for Halloween! Adeline had to go visit in her Skye costume! ❤️
From a patient’s Mom: “Every time I nap I wake up to a towel on my chest and 'tools' next to me 😂 She talks about you every day ” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for bringing your little in Bailey! She’ll make an awesome dentist! #classof43 Bailey Lowe
Today is the last day of Dr. Heron’s maternity leave, so she’s training up the help to keep the house tidy while she works! 😆
Don’t forget to brush your teeth tonight!
"Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat" shall keep us from serving your dental needs! We're open regular hours today, February 12th - and we're looking forward to seeing you!! :D
[02/08/19] We'll see what tomorrow morning brings, but as of now we're planning to be open as usual tomorrow!!
As you can see, Sandra is about to go on maternity leave! We still need a dental assistant to cover for her while gone. If you know of anyone who may be interested, send them our way!!
Will work with Dr. Dana Otterholt and Dr. Kjersten Heron. Job starts on January 2, 2019 and will run through February 29th (at most), is for 4 days per week (Tu,We, Th, Fr), patient appointments from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m, with setup time if needed starting at 7:30.
We prefer one person to cover all days for the continuity this provides for our patients and other staff members, but we would be open to "job sharing" if no one person can cover all four days... e.g. 1:3, 2:2, ...
Our focus is on providing high quality, personal care for all of our patients; whether they have been with us for many decades or only a short while, whether it is only one person or one of the many multigenerational families we serve. All of us in our office strive to listen well, communicate clearly, explain thoroughly, and treat to a high standard of care.
We are looking for a well organized, dependable person who can join us as a Dental Assistant during our time of need.

[11/11/18] Thank you to all veterans for your service to our country. To show our appreciation for those who have served, we spent Friday morning volunteering cleanings and fillings for veterans. It was a pleasure to be able to give back, and tomorrow we will be open for our normal business hours 8-5.
Always good to remember what our patients experience... but maybe next time we won’t have the patient be the one that reminds us. 😂😂 Thanks for another fun visit Dominic!
Another fun morning working with an adorable kiddo. Thanks for being such a great helper Olivia!! Angie Kjos
Greetings from Sedona, Arizona!! While Dr. Vicki and Dana are out of the office this week, Dr. Kjersten is holding down the fort. Have fun hiking Mom and Dad!
