February is AMD Awareness Month!

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of vision loss for older adults. AMD comes in two forms; Dry (most common and is usually slow progressing and can be caught during annual eye health exams) and wet (less common but can cause faster vision loss).

You can look for symptoms such as blurriness in the center of your vision, straight lines appearing wavy or curved, difficulty seeing in low lighting, or blank spots in the center of your vision as depicted below.

Getting an annual eye health exam can help to lower your risk of AMD or catch it soon enough to begin treatments.
