The Mount Vernon School District is located in the fertile Skagit Valley, where prosperity meets opportunity. The district is diverse and employs nearly 1,000 employees. Those employees serve 6,700+ students in grades Kindergarten – 12 at six elementary schools (grades K-5), two middle schools (grades 6-8), one high school (grades 9-12), and one home school parent partnership (grades K-12).

In response to these needs, Skagit Valley College is proud to announce two new innovative programs will expand equity in access and achievement for students and help them take an important next step on their pathway toward a STEM career.

If you have been in eastern Skagit County, in the upper Skagit River Valley you have seen some of the most extraordinary natural beauty found anywhere.

Traveling east up Highway 20, or on the South Skagit Highway, there are many opportunities to visit Washington State Parks and/or historic communities such as Hamilton, Lyman, Birdsview, Concrete and Marblemount. Each with their own unique history and story.

Rockport State Park, Howard Miller Steelhead Park and Rasar State Park can be found just off of Highway 20 along the route to Marblemount.

After watching this wonderful video you will surely want to plan your trip to the upper Skagit Valley.
