Today we are honored to announce our 2025 Lasting Legacy Award Winners for Provider Appreciation: Linda and Ron Kerr of Knox County Special Olympics! Their nominator said, “Linda and her late husband, Ron started Knox County Special Olympics in 2006. Linda spent every Thursday evening holding practices for the athletes until 2022. Every June, Linda spent a weekend at the Ohio State University for the state games. She spent so many hours behind the scenes gathering paperwork for the athletes and staying current on trainings/updates from the state. At the end of the year, Linda would create a picture book for every athlete of the events they competed in throughout the year. She would also order trophies for every athlete to present to them at the year end banquet. Both Linda and Ron made sure the banquet recognized all the athletes for their achievements. The individuals and their families were a very important part of Linda's life for many years. Linda volunteered so many hours and always put the individuals and their families first to give them so many opportunities throughout the years.“

Karen Fletcher was a Direct Support Professional with Creative Foundations for many years! She was an integral part of starting the Adult Day Program in Knox County while she was working with Keven, which then turned into the program it is today. She strove to make the people that she supported as independent and as happy as they could while also teaching them important life skills and encouraging them to grow as people. Karen was another very deserving nominee for our Lasting Legacy Award this year and we are so appreciative of the legacy that Karen left behind.

This week we are honored to highlight everyone that was nominated for the "Lasting Legacy" award! Today, we are putting a spotlight on Bo Rambo. Bo worked for Concepts in Community Living and retired just a few years ago.

His nominator said, "Bo's quiet strength, unwavering guidance, and remarkable ability to regulate emotion through even the most chaotic moments left a lasting impression on me. He taught me how to breathe through difficulty, to remain steady when the world felt unsteady. Bo had an incredible knack for saying just the right thing—whether to staff or to clients—to bring calm, focus, and perspective when it was needed most. His wisdom and perception shaped how I approached every challenge.

In crisis, Bo remained a steady compass. His response to high-pressure situations was nothing short of admirable, and I looked to him as a mentor and an example of how to lead with grace and resolve. Through his influence, I became a better DSP and, ultimately, a stronger professional. He saw potential in me and gave me the space to grow, and for that I am forever grateful."
