It's Nurse's Week! I nearly missed it but would be happy to celebrate Megan and Heather any time of the year. These two are awesome nurses and take great care of our patients, and they take care of me, too. Starting a clinic means a lot of random jobs need done, and they have stepped up and helped in so many ways. Beyond being nurses, they've taken on painting, interior design, cleaning, shoveling snow, window tinting, community outreach, even entertaining my kids when they are at the office, and the list could go on...

I have been lucky to work with a number of great nurses in my career (thanks to all of you!) and while I'm grateful for you every day, I want to especially say THANK YOU during this week dedicated to you!

We are so very thankful to be a part of this community and to be trusted to help take care of you and those you love. It is an honor to get to be your family physician. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We will be closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday this year. If you have a non-urgent need, please call our office at 319-895-1620 and leave a message and we will get back to you on Monday.

Also, next Tuesday at noon we will be having our ribbon cutting ceremony with Visit Mount Vernon-Lisbon CDG! Please join us in the celebration! All are welcome.

Meet Stacey!

Stacey is usually the voice that greets you on the phone, and the friendly face welcoming you to our clinic. In addition to running the front office, Stacey is a certified professional coder and has experience in medical billing. She has been part of the Lisbon-Mount Vernon communities since 2006 and is married to Jason. They have two children that keep them busy, and she also loves to go kayaking.

Round 2 of Meet the Staff!

Heather, LPN has been in healthcare for 16 years including time at Nephrology, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine. She is our office lab coordinator and you may see her rooming patients or helping at the front desk when needed. She has also been spotted painting walls, organizing and labeling everything in sight. She is our jack-of-all-trades! At home she's a wife and a mom to 3 children and enjoys spending time outside on the farm and watching her son play sports.

Meet our staff on Facebook this week!

First up is Megan, RN. Megan has been a nurse for 12 years and has lots of experience in Family Medicine. She loves working with kids, doing emergency care, and sports medicine. She is also our vaccine coordinator for the clinic. She lives in Anamosa with her husband and 4 children. Her usual weekend activities include spending time with family and friends, and catching any and all sporting events.

Here we go! After a few days getting staff settled in, we are just about ready. Come in today for a flu shot (we have regular and high dose). Next week we'll be ready to start seeing patients for appointments with Dr. Smith. Here's what you need to know:

Flu shots TODAY, Friday 10/4/24: Walk-ins or by appointment.

Physician appointments starting 10/7/24: Call to schedule or stop by to schedule in person.
