Skagit and Whidbey Passport Event is underway. This year it is all about Vacation Destinations.

Whispering Willows kicked off the Skagit leg to this spring and summer unique networking experience with a quick trip to Rome, Italy. We provided Sam’s authentic Chicken and Alfredo meal with sweet treats made in Italy along with Italian sodas and wine from Italy. When in Rome it’s best to get your picture drawn by an expert caricaturist like Steve.

In support of our local a raffle was held with the prize including Italian wines, prosecco, wine glass’ and holder. Matt Long with Eden Home Health won the raffle.

Nutrition is key to a healthy mind and body. There are many studies about the function nutrients play in cognitive functions and overall brain health. Like sunshine, foods rich in vitamin D play a significant role in mood regulations and combating depression. Minerals like iron and zinc affect neurotransmitters while also contributing to healthy blood flow to the brain. We focus heavily on providing nutrient rich foods for our residents. Our incredible chefs handcraft our meals from a menu made specially by our dietitian to ensure residents enjoy both tasty and healthy meals. Our dietary aids, caregivers, and activity assistants work together to make every meal a pleasant dining experience.

Our talented Janette does an incredible job keeping our residents’ hair looking its best, while our handle day to day styling, helping everyone feel confident. Exciting Saturday at Farmstrong Brewing at the 8th annual Skagit Chili and Chowder Cook-Off. Our Chef Sam participated in both the and professional competition with the only Manhattan clam chowder. It was spicy and full of flavor like a Bloody Mary without the vodka.

Sam took 2nd place for his amplified beef Chili. He has a way of combining spices that complement your palette to want to come back for more.

Congratulations Sam!!! And everyone at Whispering Willows that encouraged and supported our participation.

Come on out to Farmstrong Brewing on Saturday, April 4 from 1-4 pm and support our own Chef Sam as he represents Whispering Willows in this year's Skagit Chili & Chowder Cook-off. Sam is providing both Chili and Chowder that is known throughout the county. Taste test and vote for your favorite local Chili and Chowder and listen to great music all at the cost of $25.00.
