What's more fun than sitting for your portrait to be drawn? Some residents couldn't stop smiling. Others were curious and intrigued. Our own artist Carol was so excited and first to sit for her portrait. She draws others so to have someone draw her was a real treat.

We are all special in our own ways, but when we are captured by the creativity of a true artist it creates a special feeling about ourselves. Carol felt compelled to draw a portrait of Audrey during a watercolor activity. We knew she was an , but she had not before divulged how amazing of an artist she is.

Creative art is therapeutic. It is great for relaxation and brain stimulation. Since the 1940's art has been used professionally for enhancing mental wellbeing and healing according to the website Very Well Mind.

We offer art activities daily and have special art opportunities weekly. If you would like to join us for some art, please let us know and schedule a time to come in and participate.

Leading up to Valentines Day we held a Valentine's Trivia activity. February is the month of discussing what L. O. V. E. means to us. Amazing and insightful comments surfaced during the conversation. The topic continued during dinner and carried on into the evening. Love is a topic everyone has in common. It is a tie that binds us all said one of the trivia participants.
