The idea of Skagit County Public Health eliminating our Senior Services is devastating. September 9 at 10:45 am is the next meeting to voice your opinions and concerns. Please put it on your calendar and show up. Our seniors and their families need these services.

Two weeks away from live performances at the Sedro-Woolley Farmers Market with Chris Eger of The Chris Eger Band and #1 recoding artist and song writer Eddy K known for songs like Daddy’s Money while he was with the Ricochet Band.

Nashville's own Eddie Kilgallon is coming to Sedro Woolley to perform live at SWHS on Tuesday, September 16th and at the Farmers Market on Wednesday, September 17th with Skagit's own The Chris Eger Band. These will be unique and special events.

We shared how to use oil to improve memory with 100s of seniors today by providing fresh organic rosemary sprigs and samples of rosemary essential oils to smell and apply.

One study from Northumbria University states a “whiff of rosemary can increase cognitive function and mood.”

Music's therapeutic benefits are boundless. Music connects us to our past by rekindling memories and sometimes the skill of learning how to play an instrument is remembered when that song we played over and over as a child is heard again. Coloring is soothing and brings out our creative side. Mark is relaxing in the activity room using his small muscle skills to construct his own unique picture. Focusing on one task at a time is a great way to be mindful which activates our parasympathetic nervous system creating a calming effect on our body.
