With tender hearts, we all spent time creating Valentine’s cards for our sweethearts.

We gathered together with colorful markers, heart stickers, and sharing our creative ideas as we worked. Each card became a small and simple expression of love, decorated with bright colors and carefully placed hearts.

It was a sweet and meaningful time for us, celebrating the love we carry in our hearts and the special people who mean so much to us.

To follow up on our Black History Month post, our Activities Director, Kim, had originally planned for the group to watch a documentary about Martin Luther King Jr.. But when she asked the residents what sounded most fun, they quickly voted for bingo!

So, Kim got creative. She put together a special bingo game featuring both historical and present-day Black heroes. As she read meaningful and inspiring statements about each person, residents listened closely and even collaborated with each other to find out if they had them on their cards. Then, of course, they got to grab their dauber and mark the spot!

There was laughter, a little friendly competition, and some learning along the way. We discovered new facts about well-known leaders and even learned about heroes we hadn’t heard of before. It was a wonderful way to celebrate, connect, and honor Black History Month together.

During our recreational walk yesterday, Kim, our Activities Director, asked the group how we should celebrate Black History Month. One resident became very animated and confidently suggested that we focus on Martin Luther King Jr. When Kim asked why, he replied, “You need to look him up—he died too soon, and we need to learn his ways.”

I just want to pause and recognize how moving that moment was. To hear such clear, heartfelt admiration expressed so eloquently was powerful. He’s right—Dr. King did die too soon, and his words, his courage, and his example are still lessons we need to keep learning.

Following that conversation, our activities planning group chose to honor his legacy by watching a documentary and spending time together discussing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life, work, and lasting impact. It felt like a meaningful and fitting way to learn from his example and reflect on the values he stood for.

🎉 Celebrating Birthdays in Memory Care 🎂
Today we gathered to celebrate the birthdays of some very special residents. Birthdays in memory care aren’t about the number of candles—they’re about joy in the moment, familiar smiles, favorite treats, and feeling surrounded by people who care.

From singing well-loved songs to sharing cake and laughter, these moments matter. We’re honored to celebrate each resident and the life they continue to share with us every day. 💙

Coffee time in Memory Care delivered one of those moments you truly cannot plan.

Our Activities Director, Kim, was leading a lighthearted chat and sharing a few fun facts about moonshine—purely educational, of course. As she was explaining how it was traditionally made, two of our residents promptly spoke up to offer some very confident corrections. Turns out, we had a pair of subject-matter experts in the room.

The exchange was animated and smiles were all around with Kim happily stepping into the role of student for a moment. It was a wonderful reminder that our residents bring a lifetime of experiences, knowledge, and stories with them—and they are more than happy to share.

This afternoon’s outing was a breath of fresh air and a feast for the senses—and it was made even better with Bella, our adorableble puppy mascot, joining us for the adventure. We set off on a scenic drive through the Edison and Bow Hill area, soaking in beautiful mountain views and keeping our eyes peeled for animals along the way. The conversation flowed just as easily as the scenery rolled by—memories of past ski trips and plenty of excitement about warmer days ahead. Plans are already in the making for a relaxing picnic and stopping by the ponds to feed the ducks. It was a joyful, easygoing outing filled with laughter, connections, and new memories!
