Exciting Announcement! 🎉 Lainie (Phelps) Woosley, LPCC, is returning to the Robert Alexander Center for Recovery as the Director of Family Services.

When Lainie originally started as a Family Therapist in 2021, she had the honor of developing the Family Services Program, serving families for three years as they navigated the journey of healing alongside their loved ones. In 2024, she stepped away to focus on her doctoral degree and another leadership venture. That time allowed her to deepen her understanding, renew her passion, and prepare for this next chapter.

Now, in 2025, Lainie is returning to lead the Family Services Program at RAC. Recovery is not just about the individual; it’s about rebuilding relationships, fostering understanding, and creating lasting change in families. At RAC, we believe that true healing includes the family, and that belief fuels Lainie’s passion.

Lainie shared that she is excited for what’s ahead, grateful for this opportunity, and honored to be back in a place that delivers outstanding client care with compassion and integrity. To all the families she’s worked with before, and those she will meet in the future—I see you, I hear you, and I’m here for you!

Here’s to healing, growth, and the power of family in recovery!

Welcome Back, Lainie! 💙

Join us in celebrating Nicole Bates as the Employee of the Month Spotlight Winner! 🎉 Below, she shares a little about herself.

My connection to Grand Falls is deeply personal. About a year ago, a loved one was admitted here, and I was incredibly impressed by the level of care and support—not just for them, but for me as well. When a case management position became available, I knew I wanted to be part of this team.

Since joining Grand Falls in September 2024, I’ve had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients while also receiving incredible support from my supervisor and colleagues. My supervisor, in particular, has been instrumental in my professional growth, encouraging me to take the next step by pursuing a Master’s in Counseling. I’m so grateful for that guidance and for being part of a team that truly values both personal and professional development.

Outside of work, my world revolves around my daughter, my partner, and our two dogs, who keep life busy and full of love. I also volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), advocating for children in the foster care system.

I’m honored to work alongside such an amazing team and look forward to continuing to support our clients—both as a case manager now and, hopefully, as a counselor in the future.

Thank you to my colleagues and everyone at Grand Falls for this recognition and for making this such a meaningful place to work! 💙

Last weekend marked the end of our Winter Family Retreat! We are so proud of all the families who attended this special event to deepen their understanding of recovery. A huge thank you to our wonderful guest speakers for sharing their experiences and answering any questions our families had. This event would not have been possible without our incredible Family Program Specialists. The Family Retreat will continue to grow, and we’re excited to see what the future holds! 💙

Join us in celebrating Rachael Gomez as the December Employee of the Month Spotlight Winner! 🎉 Below, she shares a little about herself. 👏

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in 2016 from Purdue University and have just 50 days left in my master's program. I’m currently pregnant, and we’re expecting our first child, a son, in May. We are so excited to meet him!

I have two dogs—a German Shepherd named Rogue and a shelter mix named Kai—who I absolutely adore. I spend most of my free time with them. Rogue and I are heavily involved in dog training, and she is on track to become a protection dog.

Outside of work, my hobbies include dog training, exercising, and spending time with my husband.

My favorite mantra is, “Don’t make the right decision, make the decision right.” I often find myself second-guessing decisions, assuming the alternative would have been better, even though I can’t know for sure. The quality of a decision isn’t about choosing the "perfect" one; it’s about the actions you take afterward to make the most of it.

Today, we are proud to celebrate a huge milestone for one of our own. 🙌 Congratulations to Rob on one year of sobriety! 🎉

Rob has proudly served in the military and as a member of our police force, but his greatest strength shines in the group therapy sessions he facilitates. Having completed our program here at Grand Falls Recovery Center, Rob has walked the same path as the clients he now inspires.

He began his journey in our medically supervised detox program, transitioned to inpatient residential care, and then diligently completed our intensive outpatient program. Now, he inspires clients by sharing his experience and showing them that he’s literally sat in the same chairs they find themselves in today.

Rob’s hard work, resilience, and commitment to recovery are truly inspiring. He’s a shining example of how dedication to recovery can transform lives. We’re honored to have him on our team and to witness the incredible journey he continues to lead.

Here’s to many more milestones ahead, Rob! 🎉💙
