Dr Housholder and Dr Fejzo are making strides with HG Research! Their abstract on two medications that are really helping HG patients was published in the SMFM Pregancy Journal šŸŽ‰

In a retrospective chart review conducted at The HG & Morning Sickness Clinic, which treated ~1300 HG patients over 3 years, researchers evaluated the effectiveness of off-label mirtazapine and olanzapine for managing Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) in patients unresponsive to standard therapies.

Outcomes were assessed using HELP and PUQE scores, vomiting frequency, and weight change at follow-up.

This research was presented as a poster presentation at the SMFM conference in early 2026.

Thank you to Kimber MacGibbon, MS, BSN, RN and AimƩe Brecht-Doscher, MD, both from the HER Foundation, for reviewing this abstract prior to publication.

The HyperEmesis Level Prediction Score is a validated tool that has become the gold standard for assessing HG. Developed by the HER Foundation, this highly sensitive tool quantifies HG symptoms into a score that can be trended over time to monitor progress and response to treatment.

✨ Now seeing patients in GEORGIA ✨
We’ve officially expanded care into Georgia, supporting patients across the state who are living with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). Our model combines telehealth, remote care management, and local infusion partners—so you can get HG care without unnecessary barriers.

Dr. Housholder also consults with HG patients **throughout the U.S.** via our out-of-state consult program. Wherever you live, we’ll help you understand your options and create a plan that makes sense for your body and your pregnancy.

šŸ’› Alabama patients: no matter where you are in the state - we’ve got you. Reach out, and we’ll work with you to get medications and care in place. You don’t have to navigate HG alone.

While there is a pause on SNAP benefits, WIC is still fully funded and available for families meeting eligibility guidelines. You do not have to have Medicaid to qualify for WIC - If you make less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Limit, you qualify. Tip: Your unborn child counts as a dependent when verifying eligibility. It can take up to 30 days after you apply to get WIC.

A couple snapshots of Dr. Housholder, Founder of The Morning Sickness Clinic, presenting on the final day of Project Healthcare by the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. He shared how our clinic’s approach to treating nausea and vomiting in pregnancy reduces ER visits, lowers hospital admissions, and decreases the overall cost of care for patients.

We’re honored to be part of this inspiring cohort of entrepreneurs working to close critical gaps in our healthcare system—and grateful for the connections, mentorship, and momentum gained along the way. šŸ’™
