Meet Our Team! This week our teammate is extra special since he supports BOTH of our Alabama locations! JP Baguer is our amazing personal fitness trainer who is super passionate about helping our patients reach their goals!

When did you join CoreLife and what does your role entail?

*I joined CoreLife in July 2018 and opened the Mountain Brook, AL office as their Personal Trainer. Currently, I am training patients at both CoreLife locations in Hoover and Mountain Brook. My main responsibilities are to assess Corelife’s patients' fitness abilities and create an individualized fitness program that is specifically tailored for each patient based on their goals while taking into consideration any mobility or health related issues they may have. My goal for every patient that I am fortunate to train is for them to feel better leaving the session than they did starting the session. I also communicate directly with our incredibly talented and highly qualified Registered Dietitians and Nurse Practitioners on their health and weight loss progress. CoreLife is truly a Team Effort.

Why did you decide to join CoreLife and what are you passionate about?

*After working in the pharmaceutical/sales industry for over 10 years, my passion for health and fitness inspired me to pursue a career change as an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Everything CoreLife represents is what I am passionate about. I enjoy pushing patients to be their best by setting an example in my own personal fitness. I’m here to educate, motivate, innovate, and appreciate every single patient that gives me the opportunity to train them.

I believe all of life’s challenges are opportunities for growth. One of my greatest challenges was experiencing the death of my father, who was my hero and best friend, and led me to gaining over 80lbs in the two years that followed. This set in motion my personal mission to strive to become the best version of myself through fitness. Traveling this journey has given me the strength and passion in life to inspire others to change their lives through physical fitness. It takes personal integrity, discipline, and dedication to stick with a healthy lifestyle. I believe there are absolutely no limits but the ones we place on ourselves.

What’s your favorite part about being part of CoreLife?

*Our Patients! I enjoy getting to know our patients on a deeper level and doing everything in my power to help them not only reach but to surpass their goals. You can’t have success without sustainability. That is what makes CoreLife unique from any other business in the industry. Everyone here at CoreLife not only shows our patients the path to success but they go one step further to teach them how to make their weight loss goals permanent and sustainable. I have seen so many patients reach their goals and just being a part of that journey with them is so rewarding. I can’t tell you how wonderful I feel every night knowing that I helped someone get one step closer to their goal each and every day. When the patient wins and reaches their goal everyone at CoreLife wins. And let me tell you that there is a lot of “Winning” going on at our Mountain Brook and Hoover CoreLife locations!

Meet Our Team! Introducing our amazing Front Desk Coordinator at our Mountain Brook location -- Sierra Awtrey!

*What's your role at CoreLife? -- My role/ main responsibilities include managing the day to day tasks of the office, scheduling patients, completing patient consultations, and making sure patients stay on track with their weekly appointments. I joined CoreLife in the summer of 2018 and was privileged to be a part of the first CoreLife Alabama clinic.

*Why did you decide to join CoreLife? -- I decided to join CoreLife because of my interest and passion in health and wellness. While studying health promotion in college, I fell in love with the idea of helping people improve their longevity and quality of life through making dietary and exercise changes.

*What are you passionate about? -- Helping people find true joy in living a healthy lifestyle! Exercise and eating right obviously helps you lose weight, but more importantly it scientifically makes you happier, gives you more energy and helps you become the best YOU that you can be. With the accountability and guidance our program offers, patients are able to make these lifestyle changes in a way that is easy, enjoyable and fits into their lifestyle.

*What's your favorite part about being part of CoreLife? -- I love seeing the change in a person's demeanor when they follow our plan and start seeing the weight fall off, medications eliminated and energy increased. When our patients lose weight, there is an obvious physical change, but what is more important to me is their change in confidence and the way they carry themselves. To me, this is the most rewarding part of my job!

Today we're featuring one of our amazing patients... Vicki's been a patient with our Salisbury location since July 2017 and has lost more than 40lbs since then! Her motivation is to be there for her family and be active with her grandchildren. Her favorite part about the CoreLife program is that she doesn't feel deprived of foods because she has the knowledge and tools to work any food into her plan, within reason! She's an amazing example of how making changes each week helped improve her health and achieve her goals! Keep up the great work, Vicki!

Meet Our Team! Introducing our amazing Nurse Practitioner at our Mountain Brook location -- Emma O'Neal!

*What is your role at CoreLife? -- I joined CoreLife in January 2019 to fulfill the nurse practitioner role, which means I go through each patient's medical history, and ensure all weight loss recommendations we make are individualized and safe. Then, I collaborate with primary care providers and our in-house Registered Dietician to maximize patient outcomes.

*Why did you decide to join CoreLife? -- I was immediately drawn the to positive, encouraging environment. CoreLife is unique, compared to other health clinics, in that providers and patients build a personal relationship by seeing each other on a weekly basis.

*What are you passionate about? -- When I was deciding my career path, one common thread among all options was serving others and positively impacting the health of our community. My goal for each interaction at CoreLife is to help a patient become more confident in his/her own skin through providing education on how to live a healthier lifestyle.

*What's your favorite part about being part of CoreLife? -- My coworkers! The communication and teamwork between the clinicians at both locations is unparalleled. Not only do I respect their intellect and experience, but I enjoy spending time with them!
