Forty years. One incredible journey. 💙
When Vicki Buckley first walked through the doors of Summerfield, she was excited — and understandably a little apprehensive. Four decades later, she has worn many hats: nurse aide, medication technician, receptionist, activities assistant, and activities director.
What’s never changed? Her heart for people.
Vicki has built lasting relationships with residents, listening to their stories (whether for the first time or the hundredth) and sharing her own adventures right back. For her, this has never been “just a job.” It’s a calling rooted in something her father told her years ago: If you find something you love to do and you do it well, you will be successful.
Her advice for anyone entering healthcare:
“We are humans taking care of humans. Is it always easy? No. Is it rewarding? Yes — a million times over.”
And her favorite reminder:
“They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
Thank you, Vicki, for 40 years of compassion, commitment, and heart. ✨
