In this day and age, it's far too easy to fall victim to what Dr John Gottman calls the 📲 "digital distraction."

It refers to how smartphones and devices (including gaming 🎮) interfere with real-world connection, acting as barriers to emotional bids, degrading conversations (even by their mere presence), and leading to feelings of isolation, disrespect, and disconnection, ultimately damaging relationship intimacy and trust by causing partners to feel ignored or less important than the screen.
