The caregivers from 1st Choice Home Care will soon be going door-to-door around Flippin to introduce themselves and share information about the services they offer to seniors and families in our community.

🧠❤️✨May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Since 1949, the United States has recognized May as 'Mental Health Awareness Month". This set aside the month for organizations to focus on mental health and bring awareness to the public. The stigma associated with mental health was often a very negative one as it was not spoken about much publicly. May is a time we can reach out even more to let those who may suffer in silence know that they are not alone.

Mental Health Statistics:
🔺 Depression affects 18million adults annually (1 in 10)
🔺8 Million adults each year are affected by PTSD
🔺30 out of every 100 Vietnam Veterans have PTSD in their lifetime
🔺11 – 20 out of every 100 Veterans who served in Iraq will experience PTSD
🔺12 out of every 100 Veterans who served in the Gulf War will experience PTSD
🔺Generalized Anxiety Disorder Affects 2 – 4% of the adult U.S population, or 5 – 9 million people.
🔺15% of women will experience some level of postpartum depression.
