✨ Thinking About Fertility? Start With Understanding Your Body. ✨

So many people jump straight into trying to conceive without ever being given the space to truly understand what’s happening inside their body first.

Hormones.
Nutrient status.
Cycle patterns.
Immune balance.
Stress load.

When these pieces aren’t supported or understood, the journey can feel confusing, exhausting, and discouraging.

✨ Here’s something important:
Preparing the body before trying to conceive — ideally 3–6 months ahead — can make a meaningful difference in how supported your system feels. This isn’t about “doing everything,” but about doing the right things for your body.

Rather than chasing every test or trend, thoughtful insight can offer a clearer picture of what your body may be asking for.

🌿 Some areas that are often helpful to explore before or during a fertility journey include:

1️⃣ Nutrient & Metabolic Support
Understanding how your body is using nutrients, managing blood sugar, and handling stress can reveal why energy, cycles, or hormone balance feel off.

2️⃣ Hormone Patterns
Hormones don’t work in isolation. Looking at patterns — not just single numbers — can help explain irregular cycles, painful periods, or difficulty conceiving.

3️⃣ Thyroid & Immune Balance
The thyroid and immune system play a huge role in fertility, inflammation, and overall resilience. When either is under strain, the whole system can feel it.

4️⃣ Vaginal & Microbiome Health
Recurring discomfort, infections, or imbalances can signal that local and systemic support is needed — especially when trying to conceive.

✨ This isn’t about labels or fear.
It’s about clarity, gentleness, and support — listening to what the body has been communicating all along.

At Revive & Root, I focus on education, nervous system support, herbal guidance, and foundational wellness so you can move forward feeling informed rather than overwhelmed.

🌱 If you’re in a season of preparing, healing, or simply wanting to understand your body better, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to guess your way through it.

💬 I’m curious…
Are you currently:
• trying to conceive
• preparing your body for the future
• navigating hormone or cycle concerns
• or just wanting to feel more balanced overall?

🌼 Goldenrod Isn’t the Villain — It’s the Ally 🌼

If seasonal allergies leave you dealing with itchy, watery eyes, runny noses, sinus pressure, or inflammation, this is one herb I reach for again and again.

✨ Goldenrod Tincture (Solidago canadensis)
Handcrafted by Revive & Root

Goldenrod is traditionally used to:
• Support the body during seasonal allergies
• Help dry up excess mucus (runny nose, watery eyes)
• Calm inflammation in the sinuses and tissues
• Support lymphatic flow and overall immune balance

Despite the myth, goldenrod does not cause allergies — it actually blooms at the same time as ragweed and often gets blamed unfairly. Herbalists have long used it as a natural ally during allergy season.

This tincture is especially loved for:
🌿 Sneezing fits
🌿 Drippy noses
🌿 Itchy, irritated eyes
🌿 Seasonal sinus discomfort

🧪 Details:
• 1 oz handcrafted tincture
• Approx. 30 servings
• Ratio 1:3
• Ingredients: high-grain alcohol, goldenrod (Solidago canadensis)

As always, this is about supporting your body gently, not forcing it into suppression. Every body is different, and seasonal support looks different for everyone.

If you’ve struggled with allergies or inflammation and want a more natural approach, this may be a beautiful place to start 🌿 You can order here, or pick it up at Mountain Homemade, Nature's Way Natural Lifestyle, or Revive Motion Massage Therapy!

💬 Have you tried goldenrod before — or were you surprised to learn what it’s actually used for?

🌿 Why Herbalists Love Pairing Catmint + Lemon Balm 🌿

Some herbs shine on their own—and some are even better together.

Catmint and lemon balm are a classic herbal pairing used traditionally to support the nervous system, digestion, and gentle emotional balance for both adults and families.

💚 How they work together:

🌱 Catmint (Nepeta cataria)
• Gently calms the nervous system
• Helps ease gas, tension, and restlessness
• Traditionally used for headaches, digestive upset, and colic
• Offers soft, grounding calm without heaviness

🍋 Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)
• Known for lifting mood and easing anxious thoughts
• Supports digestion, especially when stress is involved
• Traditionally used for nervous stomachs, restlessness, and sleep support
• Brings gentle cheer and emotional ease

✨ Together, they create:
✔️ Deeper calm without sedation
✔️ Support for stress-related digestive upset
✔️ Gentle relaxation for tense bodies and busy minds
✔️ A traditional pairing often used in family herbalism

This combination is especially loved during times of stress, overwhelm, sleep trouble, nervous digestion, or emotional sensitivity.

At Revive & Root, we often look at how herbs work in relationship with one another—because the body responds beautifully to balance, not force.

Tinctures are available here through Revive and Root, Mountain Homemade, or Revive Motion Massage Therapy.
📩 Message if you’d like to learn whether catmint, lemon balm, or a combination may be a good fit for your wellness goals.

🌿 Catmint: Gentle Calm for Busy Minds & Little Bellies 🌿

Catmint (Nepeta cataria) is a time-honored herb known for its calming, soothing nature—supporting both the nervous system and digestion in a gentle way.

💚 Traditional benefits of catmint include:

✨ Nervous System Support
Catmint has long been used to help calm anxiety, reduce restlessness, and support emotional balance—without being overly sedating.

✨ Tension & Headache Relief
Its mild antispasmodic properties may help relax tight muscles, making it a favorite for tension headaches and stress-related discomfort.

✨ Digestive Comfort
Traditionally used to ease gas, bloating, and digestive upset—especially when stress or nervousness affects the gut.

✨ Sleep Support
By helping the body relax, catmint may promote more restful sleep and support winding down in the evening.

✨ Gentle Support for Colicky Babies
Historically, catmint has been used in very mild preparations to help soothe fussiness, gas, and digestive discomfort in infants. Its calming nature made it a common choice in traditional family herbalism for unsettled little bellies.*

🌱 Who may benefit from catmint?
✔️ Adults experiencing stress, anxiety, or tension
✔️ Those with stress-related headaches or digestive upset
✔️ Individuals seeking gentle, non-sedating calm
✔️ Families looking for traditional herbal support options

At Revive & Root, catmint is crafted with care and respect for its gentle nature—always with education and individualized guidance in mind.

📩 Message to learn more or to ask if catmint may be a good fit for you or your family.

✨ A little re-introduction, from my heart ✨

If you’re new here — welcome 🤍
And if you’ve been here a while, thank you for staying.

I realized recently that I’ve shared a lot of education, support, and resources… but I haven’t truly paused to introduce me.

My name is Susan, and I’m the heart behind Revive & Root 🌿
But I’m also so much more than a business owner or an herbalist.

This past season has been one of completion, healing, and new beginnings.

After years of study, clinical hours, late nights, early mornings, and balancing life as a mom, partner, and business owner — I’ve officially completed my degree in Integrative Healthcare Sciences. This wasn’t just a box to check. It represents a deep commitment to understanding the body as a whole — physically, emotionally, hormonally, neurologically, and spiritually.

This work matters to me because I live it.

I’ve walked through seasons of chronic stress, autoimmune challenges, nervous system overload, and the kind of exhaustion that doesn’t go away with a good night’s sleep. I know what it feels like when your body doesn’t cooperate, when answers feel incomplete, and when you’re told to just “manage symptoms” instead of being supported as a whole person.

That lived experience is what shapes how I work with others.

At the same time as finishing my degree, my personal life has also been blooming in the most unexpected and beautiful way. I’m incredibly grateful for Jerry, my sweet partner and best friend. He brings steadiness, kindness, humor, and so much peace into my life. After walking through seasons of survival, learning what safety truly feels like has been a gift I don’t take lightly.

We’re getting married soon 🤍
And planning a wedding later in life — with grown children, blended families, and a lot of gratitude — feels very different than the version of love I once knew. It feels grounded. It feels calm. It feels real.

My kids are a huge part of who I am. Being their mom has shaped my resilience, my compassion, and my ability to hold space — even when things are messy or hard. They’ve watched me rebuild, study, work, heal, and choose growth again and again. Everything I do is rooted in wanting to model strength, honesty, and care — not perfection.

Revive & Root was born from all of this.

This business isn’t about trends, quick fixes, or pushing products. It’s about education, support, and helping people understand their bodies with more compassion and clarity. I believe symptoms are communication. I believe healing isn’t linear. And I believe sustainable wellness comes from listening — not forcing.

Here, you’ll find:
🌿 herbal education
🌿 nervous system support
🌿 gentle, realistic wellness tools
🌿 handcrafted products made with intention
🌿 and conversations that honor the whole person

Whether you’re navigating stress, sleep struggles, immune challenges, hormonal shifts, or simply want to feel more like yourself again — you’re welcome here.

This space is rooted in grace, growth, and the belief that healing doesn’t have to be harsh to be effective.

If you’ve found your way here, I’m really glad you did 🤍
And I look forward to walking alongside you this year — learning, growing, and restoring together.

With love,
Susan 🌿

🌙 Supporting Deep, Restorative Sleep — Naturally 🌙

Quality sleep isn’t just about how long you sleep — it’s about how deeply your nervous system is able to rest.

Here are some gentle, supportive ways to help your body shift into true restoration:

✨ Step away from screens at least 1 hour before bed
Phones and screens keep the brain in an alert, stimulated state. Giving your nervous system a screen-free window allows melatonin to rise naturally and signals the body that it’s safe to rest.

🌿 Herbal support
Herbs like passionflower and lemon balm have a long tradition of supporting relaxation, calming a busy mind, and easing nervous system tension — especially when stress shows up as racing thoughts or restlessness.

🧘‍♀️ Somatic exercises
Gentle body-based practices help release stored stress. Even a few minutes of slow movement or body awareness can tell the nervous system it’s okay to downshift.

🌬 Breathwork
Slow, intentional breathing — especially longer exhales — activates the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) response and helps quiet mental chatter.

💆‍♀️ Progressive muscle relaxation
Try gently tightening muscles from your toes up to your head, then slowly releasing from head back down to toes. This helps the body physically let go of tension you may not even realize you’re holding.

🙏 Meditation or prayer
Creating a quiet, intentional moment before bed — whether through meditation, prayer, or reflection — can bring a sense of safety, grounding, and peace that supports deeper sleep.

Sleep is not a luxury — it’s a foundation. When we support the nervous system, sleep often follows more naturally.

💭 I’m curious — what’s one thing that helps you wind down at night?

✨ What are Stars & how do they support small businesses? ✨

You may have noticed ⭐ Stars ⭐ on Facebook posts and wondered what they’re all about.

Stars are a simple way to support small business pages you enjoy — kind of like leaving a tip or buying a creator a coffee ☕️💚

Here’s how it works:
⭐ When you send Stars on a post, Facebook converts them into direct support for that business
⭐ It helps cover time, education, content creation, and behind-the-scenes work
⭐ It allows small businesses (like mine) to keep sharing free education, resources, and support

There’s absolutely no obligation — just engaging, liking, commenting, or sharing already means a lot.

But if you’ve ever found something I’ve shared helpful, encouraging, or informative, Stars are one small way to say “this mattered to me.” 🌱

Thank you for being here, learning alongside me, and supporting small, heart-led businesses 🤍

So many of you shared that your biggest goal this year is more energy — and I just want to say this first:

Low energy isn’t a failure.
It’s information.

Fatigue can be your body asking for support in one (or more) areas:
• nervous system overload
• immune stress
• poor sleep quality
• blood sugar swings
• inflammation
• recovery after illness
• chronic stress

True energy doesn’t come from pushing harder —
it comes from supporting the systems that create energy in the first place.

💬 I’m curious — when you feel drained, does it feel more like:
1️⃣ physical exhaustion
2️⃣ mental overwhelm
3️⃣ emotional burnout
4️⃣ “I slept but I’m still tired”
5️⃣ all of the above

As this year unfolds, many of us aren’t looking for big resolutions —
we’re looking for rest.

Better sleep.
Less stress.
A nervous system that finally feels supported.

Sleep impacts everything — mood, immunity, hormones, focus, and resilience. Yet it’s often the first thing sacrificed when life gets busy.

💭 I’m curious…
What’s one small change you’d like to make this year to improve your sleep?

• earlier bedtime
• less screen time
• a calmer evening routine
• stress support
• deeper, more restorative sleep
