OMMI Students (and instructors) are now CPR Certified! ♥️

Thanks to Regeana McMillan with the American Heart Association, our students took a class on Basic Life Support, including hands-on training in CPR and using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

We’re not saying we WANT there to be any emergencies, we’re just saying we are ready! 💪🏻😉

First week of Student Clinic in the books, and I couldn’t be prouder of these ladies! 🥰 They are doing so well, and the feedback has been so great, that we are ALREADY planning an expansion of the school to add a SECOND clinic room! 🥳

Our Student Clinic is now booked 2 weeks out. As of now our first available appointment for a student massage is Monday, June 1.

This week our curriculum included studying the muscles of the hands and forearms, and they practiced a Carpal Tunnel Release protocol so they will be able to help their future clients with relief from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome without surgery!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Our students spent the day at Mountain Home Public Schools giving chair massages to the teachers and staff that work so hard every day pouring into the lives of our children.

🤔Did you know just 15 minutes in the massage chair can lower your heart rate and boost your mood?

This week we practiced working on fully clothed “clients” using our massage chairs.

It’s been so cool learning how to target all that "desk tension" in the neck and shoulders without needing a full table setup.

Here you see Ozark Mountain Massage Institute students hard at work learning anatomy! By drawing the muscles students are better able to study origins and insertions, as well as layers and directions of muscle fibers.

Vikki and Rebecca had the honor of representing the Massage Therapy profession at the Girls With Goals event hosted by the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health at ASU today. It was great getting to talk with so many young ladies from schools all over our region about the benefits of Massage Therapy, and introduce them to our new local school! 😊💜
