Baxter Health is pleased to announce the addition of Jessica O'Dell, APRN, to Baxter Health ENT & Allergy Clinic, where she joins the practice of John Neis, MD, Lynda Stovall, AuD, and Melissa Hayes, APRN.
O'Dell brings 19 years of nursing experience to her new role, including a decade at Baxter Health in Mountain Home, 8 of which were spent in the Cline Emergency Center. She has also served as a relief charge nurse and a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, reflecting both her deep roots in north central Arkansas and her diverse experience across multiple healthcare settings.
O'Dell's educational background includes a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She also holds an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and an LPN Certificate from North Arkansas College in Harrison.

Throughout her career, O'Dell has developed strong clinical judgment and a broad skill set across a variety of high-acuity settings, from critical access facilities to Level 2 and Level 3 trauma centers, experience that translates directly to the fast-paced, detail-oriented nature of ENT and allergy care. Her background managing complex, time-sensitive patient needs as a relief charge nurse, emergency room nurse, and urgent care nurse has sharpened her ability to assess and respond quickly, skills that are invaluable when caring for patients dealing with everything from acute ear, nose, and throat conditions to chronic allergy management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jessica to Baxter Health ENT & Allergy Clinic,” said Brian Barnett, VP of Physician Enterprise & Business Development. “Her extensive clinical background and deep connection to our region make her a wonderful addition to our team and to the patients we are privileged to serve.”

Outside of caring for her patients, Jessica enjoys fishing, floating on the Buffalo River, and watching her 11-year-old daughter play basketball. She is happily married and enjoys life with her husband and their daughter. Together, they enjoy spending time on their cattle farm, going to auctions, going for rides in their side-by-side, and making the most of time together as a family.

Baxter Health is pleased to welcome Interventional and Structural Cardiologist Ernesto Ruiz-Rodriguez, MD, to the Health Cardiovascular Clinic. He joins the practice of Dr. Timothy Bowen, Dr. Michael Camp, Dr. Akihiro Kobayashi, Dr. Jamon Pruitt, Dr. Patrick Tobbia, Dr. Otis Warr, Certified Physician Assistant Torey Nedden, and Nurse Practitioners Denise Beeson, Leah Fountain, and Debra Wilhite.

Dr. Ruiz-Rodriguez specializes in minimally invasive heart and vascular procedures, meaning most of his work is done through a small catheter. His expertise includes repairing and replacing heart valves, opening blocked arteries, including those that are fully or severely blocked, and closing small holes in the heart. He also uses advanced devices to support patients with heart failure during high-risk procedures, helping stabilize the heart when it needs extra assistance.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Ruiz-Rodriguez served in the United States Army, completing Airborne School. He credits his military experience with shaping his disciplined, team-oriented, and high-stakes approach to patient care.

Dr. Ruiz-Rodriguez completed his internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic, a cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky, interventional cardiology and peripheral endovascular interventions training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and an advanced structural heart disease fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is triple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.

Outside of caring for his patients, Dr. Ruiz-Rodriguez enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Erika, and sons, Kade and Kason. Together, they enjoy sports, music, hunting, fishing, and a wide range of outdoor activities.

“Dr. Ruiz-Rodriguez’s advanced training and procedural expertise will allow us to provide comprehensive, cutting-edge cardiovascular care close to home for our patients,” said Brian Barnett, VP of Physician Enterprise & Business Development. “We’re proud to welcome him to the Baxter Health Family.”

The story behind our Lamb Tagine đź“°

It all started with a dart thrown at a world map.

Back in February, we had the honor of hosting Global Plates, a dinner benefiting the Baxter Health Foundation. Leaders from Baxter Health threw darts at a map, and Executive Chef Michael Blaha turned those locations into a six-course culinary experience inspired by flavors from around the world.

At the end of the night, guests voted for their favorite dish to become the next addition to our Baxter Healthy Eats series… and that’s how Lamb Tagine made its way onto our menu.

Inspired by flavors from Algeria, this dish features braised lamb and golden raisins over Moroccan couscous with carrots, zucchini, and onion — bold, balanced, and guilt free.

Have you tried it yet? đź‘€
