Mountain Lake Area Foundation

Lake Area Foundation (MLAF) was established to be a vehicle whereby citizens could donate to a tax deductible entity, for the purpose of promoting grant worthy projects in and around the city of Mt. MLAF has both endowed and un-endowed funds (such as the Healthcare fund, the Education fund, the Project fund, etc.) which are meant to be used to fund both one time and on-going projects in the area.

Thank to all the golfers, the volunteers, the hole sponsors, the door prize donors, etc. who were involved the Foundation/Chamber Golf Tournament. Schwartz Farms https://www.schwartzfarms.com provided two delicious pork meals. Matt Johnson with https://swyamahagolfcarts.com and Midway Farm Equipment https://www.midwayfarmequip.com offered us two fabulous hole-in-one prizes. The course was in great shape and the weather was beautiful. The funds raised will all be put back into the community. Thanks again to all who attended!

After last spring drowning tragedies in our area, the Mountain Lake Area Foundation dedicated last November's fundraising dinner to finance swimming lessons for Mountain Lake youth. The $4000 that was gained through dinner tickets is being used to transport the students to the Jackson pool and provide free swimming lessons for all who were able to come. Thank you to all the businesses and individuals who attended the dinner last November and made this possible. This year's dinner will be held on Friday, November 21st, with Kyle Fast as our guest speaker. Mark you calendars now!

Because of your support of the MLAF, grants were awarded to these non-profit organizations this week:

From the button count at Maynards -
$605 to the Lake Commission
$769 to Heritage Village
$617 to MLPS to help fund field trips
$1852 to the Loaves and Fishes food shelf

$2500 to the City of Mt. Lake for Spray Misters in the park
$1500 to MLPS to fund their library supplies
$1250 to Lutheran Social Services for Meals on Wheels
$5000 to the Good Sam for a new video system

The $4000 in funds raised from our annual dinner last November will be used this summer to bus over 50 students to Jackson for swimming lessons. The Foundation will pay for the students registration fees as well.

All of this is possible when generous people like you donate to your local Mt. Lake Area Foundation. Please consider us in giving plans this year. Thank you!! When we work together, Mt. Lake is a great place to live and raise a family.
