Survivor Memoirs: Publishing Your Memoir and Finding a Place of Honor for It at the Library of Yad Yashem

This post is a special notice for Holocaust survivors: Many of you took upon yourselves the enormous task of writing your memoirs. This is of great value to all of us, and even more so for future generations that will not have the privilege of personally knowing a survivor. I have often been asked if I could help make the right connections in order to get your precious records published, or to make sure they are kept in the right place so they don’t get lost and are available where future generations and researchers can access them....

On Sunday November 9 from 12:00-2:00 pm EST, JIAAC (Jewish Identity and Antisemitism Collective) is hosting an online conversation with Adele Raemer which I will have the honor of moderating. Adele is an American-born New Yorker who made Aliya many years ago and has lived in a Kibbutz one mile away from Gaza. I am sure this will be an informative, moving conversation with one of the people who survived the catastrophic massacre and has the courage to speak about her experiences living under rocket attacks before October 7, and living through that dark day in our history....

On Thursday October 23, I will be making a presentation entitled "Clinical Implications of Intergenerational Trauma" at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) in Manhattan. The presentation will focus on clinical work which aims to enhance resilience and post-traumatic growth in individuals who carry legacies of intergenerational or multigenerational trauma. The workshop will discuss specific ways to work with intergenerational trauma in individual psychotherapy, and will also describe psycho-social interventions that are accessible in person or online, building on the 'same identity' or 'the social cure' model, and their unique benefits....
